Eight minute levels aren't too bad but this structure sucks even more than having "somebody" hitting their straight on 7th street. The CT tourney ended on Level 9 (7-card stud) with a 60 ante and bets of 600/1200. By comparison, level 9 in a regular $10+$1 tourney is a 60 ante with bets of 300/600 (12-min levels). A $5+$0.50 SNG has the same 60/300/600 structure for level 9 but with 10-minute levels. The Turbo HORSE has also has the same 60/300/600 structure for level 9 but with 5-minute levels. Higher buy-in tourneys have even smaller increases in the structure.
Are we stuck with this structure?
Edited to correct terminology for limit games.

Chuck | Thanks, Chuck. I know you addressed this during the game as well. Even though I'm not crazy about the structure, I intend to keep playing with this great group.

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: ChipTalk Side Tourney 12/18/06 - $5 HORSE thanks for finding that info Marsha. I can attest it plays much much differently on ftp. I don't know if they do private tourney's, but if they do I would be game for switching up the HORSE tourney's.
It was fun because the CTers were all there, but honestly my cash was as much an(*sp) indication of winning the crap shoot as it was of skill. |

(You need a password to play but not to view the details.)
The FTP forum has a thread on how to request a private tourney. It doesn't seem to cost anything. I'd be in favor of switching the CT HORSE tourneys to FTP to take advantage of their structure.
Somebody has a private $5+$0.50 HORSE double-stack ($3K) tourney set up for January. It's nice to know that DS tourneys are possible, although they'd probably run much too long for a weeknight tourney that crosses time zones.
I have enjoyed the CT HORSE tourneys on P*, but they really are crapshoots once you get past level 6.
