Johnny Chan Tournament
Is it worth $250 + $25 CDN to play in a No Limit Holdem tournament with Johnny Chan? I am not sure on the specifics as a friend just emailed me the above link, but I would assume the blind levels are somewhat decent and that the field will be limited to under 100 entrants since the River Rock only has a few tables.
I am not really considering it, rather I am posting for those of you in the area who might be interested, but it would be cool to have him at the same table.

Nice find. I read about this a few weeks ago in the Seattle PI/times can't remember which one, but if I wasn't married with children I would be up there in a heart beat |

Yup, if I had the discretional income I'd do it in a heartbeat!
To have the chance to play at the same table is definately worth it!

I paid $30 to play in the Doyle's Room bounty tourney. I never saw Doyle, Todd, or Mike Caro, since I trapped a guy and got him all-in on the flop with KK. His TT hit runners on the turn and river for quad tens and I was feeling like I wasted my $30. Paying $23 American dollars to sit down in the same area as Chan...I guess I'd do that. |

He is also giving a presentation for $500 at the RR. I don't think I will get $500 worth of knowledge from it so I don't have the slightest interest.
It is all the hype leading up to the BC Poker Championship coming up. $2500 entry fee for the main event.
FYI, I went to the RR last nite for the first time in over a year and the stakes have change so much. The only limit game was 2/4 and 4/8 where they use to have up to 100/200. The only NL game was a 1/2 with $200 max buyin and a 3/6 with $600 buyin. Looks all the higher game has dry up. |
