Chips: 165 | | | Vegas Daily Tourneys- Which is the best you've played Heading to Vegas on Tuesday for work. Going to have some time to play a few nights. I had a thread asking for a list of daily tourneys. That's great info. Thanks to who contributed.
So now I'm curious what is the best daily tourney that you've played in? |

In a slightly lower range, check out the 1:30 at The Mirage. They run great tourneys. |

the wynn tournament has the best all around structure, and gets a decent crowd for a weekday game. 45 min levels, 25/50 to start, and either T$3,000 or $T5,000.
my opinion on "best" tournament is all about how much play you get, so longer levels, slower structures, and more starting chips. for that, the wynn and bellagio have it. venetian, caesar's and mirage are 2nd. though i've heard that the daytime mirage games are really small, and the last time i was there the 8pm only had 3 or 4 tables.

Thanks for all your input. |

Anyway, for the more budget minded, I have played in tournaments at the Rio, Stratosphere, Aladdin, Monte Carlo, Caesar's, Bally's, and Paris. They all have buy-ins for $70 or less, typically with a $10 add-on at the beginning. I like the Rio by virtue of the fact that the poker room is right next to the Sports Book, so you can watch games while you play. I also like the Rio because I have made the final table each of the 4 times I have played there. I like the Stratosphere and Bally's because they post the time remaining in each round, as well as the next levels blinds, something the other places don't do. With the exception of Caesar's and Monte Carlo, which have separate poker rooms, the poker "rooms" in these other places are nothing other than a few tables cordoned off. Not really a "room".
The problem with these cheapo tournaments is that they cater to tourists, and the blind structures tend to move briskly. They want them over in 3 hours or less. Still, the competition is usually not that great, so if you can build a comfortable stack, they are not tough to cash in.
For cash games, I have played at Imperial Palace, Binion's, Bally's and Caesar's. Of the above, Caesar's has the nicest environment by far, and also the sharpest players. Binion's I would recommend only because it is downtown, and unlike the strip, everyone there seems to be 60 or older. |

I think the best tournament for me was the Orleans. The structure is just right not too slow or fast. You get lots of play for your money and a $5 bounty when you knock anyone out.
good luck,
