| Super Bowl Squares Contest...for chips!
Yeah, I know...the Superbowl is three months away, but I don't want to plan this last minute...
I had an idea that we could run a squares pool here. Your entry into the pool would be one casino chip (average value $1). We'll probably want to keep a running list of "entry chips" to make sure there aren't too many duplicates (how many dupes would be accaptable...3?). Of course, just like office sqaures pools, you can get in more than once.
Then it runs just like a squares pool. And the winners (each quarter) wins chips...maybe 15 chips for the 1st and 3rd quarters, 30 chips for half time and 40 chips for the final score... or we could do it evenly in sets of 25.
Everyone know how squares pools run, right?
I assume we'd have someone we all trust (Ten, a mod. or Nana) assign the numbers after all squares are accounted for.
Four people would get a nice score of casino chips. We could even do additional payouts (the reverse numbers win 5 chips, etc., but that would drop the number of chips the big winner gets).
We could also run a $5 casino chip pool, if there is interest. Also, I guess you could submit a $5 chip for five squares...
I'm thinking that everyone could ship the chip *after* the Super Bowl, to reduce shipping costs. But that would require the honor system... I don't mind paying re-shipping, if everyone wanted to send their "entry" chips to me and have me re-distribute them after the Super Bowl.
I'm posting this here both to gauge interest and to sort out some particulars of the format before the big game. We could do the same type thing for the national championship game in college, etc.
