Need advice for my tournament chip set/up

Thanks in advance guys for reading and any advice you have to offer.
I'm hosting a 20person tourney in less than 2 months, I can't wait.
Here is what my chip set consists of:

200 - .10 chips
200- .25 chips
200 - .50 chips
200 - 1.00 chips
100 - 5.00 chips
100 - 10.00 chips

I'm using a standard blind structure starting wth:
.10/20
20/30
30/40
40/50
50/1.00

I'm staring everyone out with 3K in chips.
So I'll be using all the .10/.25/.50/1.00 chips for the inital 20 buyins.

I will be offering one rebuy per person, but just plan to hand out high denom chips for those.

I just realized that after the 40/50 blind the .10 chips will become useless and I should allow people to "chip up".

Looking for advise as to how many "chip-ups" I should do and when during the tourney.

And to I need to invest in more chips to run this format?
I use custom nexgens so buying another 100 chips really isn't a big deal if I need to do that.

Your thoughts?

Thanks again!

Re: Need advice for my tournament chip set/up

Run a t2500

ditch the .10 and .50's

start everyone with
8 x .25
8 x 1.00
3 x 5.00

.25/.25 for the first hour
and then every 30 minutes
.25/.50
.50/1
1/2 ***color up***
2/4
3/6
4/8
5/10 *** color up

This is the structure i have been using with my poker league. (27+ players)

KY,

I really want to use all my chips and I sent out the blind structure and everything with the invite cause guys around Madison always want all the info. before they commit.

Thanks for the idea though, any other ideas?

okay then, for your *next* tourney..... ditch the 10's and 50's...

seriously tho, if you want to use all your chips, that's fine... most tourneys run using only chips that are multiples of 5 (or 4) from the one above it and below it.. it just makes it simpler... also, on the blinds, it is rare to see a structure where the bb is not 2x the sb- occasionally you see it on L1 where the bb=sb.. you have 3 in a row that are a little unusual.. and your bb progression is +10, +10, +10, +50... usually the increases increase at a steady rate.

anyway, as for your specific questions on colorups, once you get to L5 you can get rid of the 10's and 25's, and I would do so.. that's a good place to take a break. beyond that, hard to say since you only showed 5 levels..
but basically, get rid of any chips as soon as they are no longer needed.

good luck
