TRK/Paul-Son Dunes Tournament

We're having a private tournament for a 300-count chip set (sold at Spinetti's).

confirmed:

smoore (deanmoriarty)
clbg571
tastic (Timtastic)
BrakeDust
warewulf (warewulf619)
ddollevoet
GUN

**************************************************

Sunday August 20th, 7pm EST

You may choose either the 300 piece TRK Nevada Club, or the 300 piece Paul-Son Dunes. Both sets have a retail price of $899.95

To receive a password for the tournament, you will need to pay $30 to go towards the purchasing of the set. On August 20th 7PM EST, we'll have a $10+1 freeze-out tournament. The winner will be responsible for paying the estimated shipping fee from their first place prize money of the $10 buy-in.

Once 30 people have paid $30, I will forward the money to Spinetti's where they will hold a set on layaway.

the $30 only goes toward your password, and is separate from the $10 tournament entry fee. So in total, it is $41, to have a chance, at a first place prize of a chip set, valued at $899.95 + $120 in cash. Under P* payout structure, the winner will receive 40% of the total purse, and at $300 (30 x $10), that would be $120.

Everyone will receive their password through PM shortly before the date of the event. Please do not distribute the password to anyone who has not paid.

To pay your $30 registration, please make a transfer to my P* account.

it is: _GUN_
location: McDonald

Select 'requests' from the the options bar, and then 'transfer funds'

I will update this post to show who's paid and how many entrants we have. Once you are confirmed for the event and have paid, the funds will be forwarded to the retailer and are non-refundable.

If we surpass our goal of 30 entrants, the remaining funds will be distributed as poker prizes----chips/cards amongst the top finishers on down.

Here's the package:

175-$1 chips in casino used condition
100-$5 chips in casino used condition
25-$25 chips in uncirculated condition

The Nevada Club operated in Downtown Reno from 1948-1998.

or you may apply your $900 credit to this set:

300-count by Paul-Son for the famous Dunes Casino

150-$5
100-$25
50- $100

Re: TRK tournament

I'd like each of the 3 tournies to be a different game; HE, Omaha & Stud jump to mind. Also, at least 1 should be a H/L variety.

Also, it would really cost $63ea ($30 chip cost + $33 tourney buyin) to play as it might be problematic to collect the P* buyin from the winners.

I could be convinced to participate in this.

Stop twisting my arm, I'm in.

that would be really skillfull, but you can forget 30 entries if we do that. if we want to get to $900, we need to play the game that the most people know.

My odds just went down quite a bit along with a bit of my interest level; I'll probably still play though.

Re: TRK tournament

From a practial standpoint, we almost have to go with a single $30 tourney. We only get 40-50 a week for the standard tourneys. How are you going to get 30 people who can be in three consecutive tourneys.

I don't know how PS runs private tourneys, but I think standard payouts apply, so you can't set up a winner takes all.

BTW, if I'm available, I'll donate to the cause.

Another option is to collect the money upfront, buy the chips, play 4 tournies and only count the top 3 finishes. Its probably easier to make 3 of 4 than 3 of 3. You could even go 3 of 5 or whatever number works.

the way we handled the PNY tourny, the organizer took the money upfront. the private tourny was a baseline p* 10+1

if we did a series, it occurs to me, we could do something to account for the extra cost ($33 entry fees). we could say that if the winner of the series also had a cash in one of the events (as he most certainly would), the amount of that cash would be removed from the $900 in "chip money" and redistributed amongst the entire group (or the rest of the top ten, or something).

i rather like that idea, in fact, now that i put it in words.

Re: TRK tournament

in a $10 buy-in with 30 entrants, the top 3 will be paid. the top 3 can then request a balance transfer to a holder's account. it only takes 5 mins to put in a balance transfer to a friend's account.

I really don't like paying upfront and paying additional entry fees. $60 with my bills for August would make it rough for me.

Shipping was mentioned, we could just put in a $1 transfer for shipping. 30 x 1= $30 (covered)
