Chips: 18,492 | | | For next year: a series of CT poker tournies for entry into the 2007 wsopme? what do you guys think?
we could do an extra weekly tournament. winner of the 20 week series could win 12k to play in the wsopme (+2k for flight/room/food). money held in escrow...lowest total dropped (for an emergency miss). Code: money players $$ per player
$12,000 10 $1,200
$12,000 15 $800
$12,000 20 $600
$12,000 25 $480
$12,000 30 $400
$12,000 35 $343
$12,000 40 $300 not that i think it would happen. just wondering if it might.
who thinks they'd be in? |

But wouldnt having like ~10 tournaments be better instead of just one?

The 300 to 1200 you pay would be to an escrow account and the winner gets paid by the escrow account after the 20 week series.
Am I close?

Am I close? | Sounds good. But having that many tournaments might make it hard for some people to be able to make everyone. Even the CT tournaments have been a little bit lower then last Q besides this week.

Question: what kind of buy-in and what sort of minimum player requirements would we need (weekly) in order to make it work? I could do the math myself, but let me hear what you are thinking of.

as far as the weekly thing, unless someone has a better idea, i imagine they would take place much like the CT thursday events, as private 10+1s. these entries would be separate. is there any better way? i think it woudl be a mess to mandate that everyone pay their cashes in these weekly events into the escrow account. we couldn't make people do it, and we'd be chasing folk around endlessly to try to get them to.
as far as minimum participation: if it were a 20 week series, we could take the top 18 finishes in that time, to allow for emergencies and so forth. but this is serious, and would be for a lot of money, so i wouldn't want to say it was okay to miss more than that. as you know, the first person out of the weekly tournament gets 5 points. if you missed an event, you'd receive the 5 point min. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
