I may be a bit biased, but for $20 annually, membership into the Casino Chip and Gaming Token Collectors Club, Inc. (CCGTCC, Inc.) is one of the best deals around.
The Club is a not-for-profit (501 3c compliant, tax exempt) organization established as a educational group fostering the preservation and documentation of gaming collectibles. In my mind there three significant aspects about CCGTCC, Inc. membership.
1. Our Code of Ethics
2. Our annual Convention and Show (4 days in Las Vegas!)
3. Our Award winning quarterly publication the "Casino Chip and Token News".
Several of our ChipTalk members are CCGTCC, Inc. members, as well as several representatives/owners of the various chip manufacturing concerns.
With respect to the weekly poker tournament, please note that it is NOT endorsed by, nor governed by the CCGTCC, Inc. It was established by three CCGTCC, Inc. members for participants of The Chip Board discussion forum, who are mostly CCGTCC, Inc. members.
In the aftermath of a "crasher" to our earlier PokerStars games, it was decided to require players to be CCGTCC, Inc. members. (At that time we were playing on PokerStars, but we also had bounties (casino chips) and our Code of Ethics managed the honesty, but that only applied to members. So, we made membership a requirement.)
Our current, in-progress tournament is called The Chip Board Road to the World Series of Poker, because we are hopefull to land one of our players into the WSOP Game(s) in 2006! Please visit this link to see the details of how that will work:

Last night (4 January, 2006) we completed game #6. We had 37 players and paid out 1st-5th place ($288 - $57). 19 games remain, which will determine the top nine finishers, who will then play a final game to determine the lone winner to enter the PokerStars $1500 event.
Everyone is welcome, however CCGTCC, Inc. membership is required.
All weekly games are $22. Our Final table event (the top nine finishers from all prior games) will be $55.
I hope to see you there.
