What do you think? so far, the three teams have played a combined 3 events, and 2 players haven't been able to get money deposited (speak and fsu). there haven't been new events listed for a week or so. and the teams were created nearly 3 weeks ago.

I did a chat with tech support yesterday and asked when new events would be posted, their reply "Sorry, but I can't tell you, we are still having technical difficulties". I think it would have been a really good idea if they would have done more testing and got all of the bugs out first, especially for the people who have had problems depositing money. For now I could take it or leave it, let me know what you want to do... It would not bother me to pull my money out and close the account. Chuck |

I have reached the point where I have no clue how to play. I used to be a better player when I was sitting in my basement, drinking vodka until I was plastered every night - multi-tabling and playing until the weehours of the morning. I built a nice bankroll. Now I can't win a thing - and I don't drink a lick so it hurts more...
Get the sense I'm depressed about my game...? |

I've asked to talk to someone in their accounts/payments departments, but that request has been ignored. If they can't get me set up by the end of next week, I'm calling it a wrap.
"Hi Mr Ruddock,
Thank you for your recent email.
I would like to apologize for any inconvenienc that you have experienced in this regard. I have sent the information once again to our payments department. Thank you for being patient thus far.

I do think PR rushed the concept a lot to get it out and we are now paying for it with the kind of problems previously mentioned, however I like the idea and hope that if PR cannot succeed with it that some other place like PP or PS will give it a shot.
We will see how things go in the new year, but if it does not pan out we can say we gave it a shot anyhow and had a little fun along the way. The teams also gave me an opportunity to get to know a few great guys a little better than I would have otherwise, so in my mind I have no regrets.

So to me it's a marketing issue. |

Chips: 2,307 | | | Re: how much of a disaster is the PR team thing? I think it is obvious that Poker Room is having serious difficulties, and that it is going to cost them some business. That said, I have enjoyed the events played as well as the camaraderie that has begun to develop. Eventually the kinks will be worked out. Personally, I don't mind leaving money in the team wallet for a while to see if things get better.
Phil brought up a good point. The team events can be a great learning experience. Within our team, members seem pretty willing to explain what they did and ask for advice. Unfortunately, Poker Room doesn't seem to allow a way to get a log of the entire session (I could be wrong on this, though). I think several of us, if not the majority, could benefit from team play and candid communication.
I like the concept, but not the level of support. If it doesn't end up working out I won't be heart broken, but I'm not giving up on it yet.

Ok I joined a team just befor X-mas soo I havent had a chance to play in any Team events but as with any thing new there are always kinks to be worked out. I think once they get it together that this will prove to be a fun and Profitable thing. I could be wrong but Poker is a waiting game soooo . I also do agree that if it dosent dtraighten out soon that maybe Chip Talk could get PS to maybe host a few private tourneys between the teams . |

Kinks on PR end - signup issues, games postings, and game type. I think that most will be worked out - but they really need a clue on game type. Have more 3 night events - or create a SnG type structure (one nighters?) for simplicity. Heck - use 3 or even 4 participants per night. The easier it is to schedule, the more teams they will have.
Kinks on our end- We NEED 10 player teams. So far - each night requires 5 people playing. If we have even 1 no show, that can be crippling to the overall standings.
I do not have a clue as to the correct way to fill out a team. Maybe the captains get a list together of interested parties and PM the team for votes. Or they can hold a "supplemental" draft. No matter what - going into a 5 day game with only 8 players on the roster is not a good idea.
Finally - everyone needs to go over the tutorial at Pokerroom. This answers many questions regarding the structure of the games. If you still have questions, pleas post them. I have a pretty good grasp on the setup. I am used to reading engineering papers and books - and this is only slightly more complex. Pay particular attention to the game format for the leagues. Each night of play has 5 tournaments that need to be staffed. They describe the games like this can vary - but for now, all have been 5. So - for a 5 day game, 25 seperate tournaments need to be played. If you only have 5 players register for a 5 day event before you commit, then they all have to play all 5 nights. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
