Who's ksuwildcats1?

Maybe we should have some alternate or standby system? Couldn't tell how someone could jump in though in the last minute (we should probably know this deadline) without the assigned individual doing something (like declining?) with some ticket PM (don't remember the exact jargon).

Thanks Captain!

Still digging around for a dropdead time to switch players for a given night. But as long as I know an hour ahead of time, I can make the switch. PM here or email will work best.

It looks like I was right about the SOL part: "If the required number of players to enter an event is five, this means that five players need to be able to play in every scheduled league session. By buying in with just the required 5 players, the team leaves it self very handicapped should one of the registered players not be able to play."

I may be wrong about team members not paying reciving prize money, but their forums seem to contradict the pokerroom info.

Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters

I'm in the Mountain time zone and typically can play most week nights except Tuesdays as long as it's after 8:30pm Eastern time (6:30pm Mountain). Thursday nights are the ChipTalk tourney but we'll all need to play 2 tourneys at once at some point as most events have a thursday night game.

I'll keep checking on Pokerroom each day for suggested events and I'll start signing up for some. Can't wait to start this.

By the way - do we expect to get a full team of 10? Or are we ok with 8 for now?

Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters

We're still awaiting Yeltzen's info - that puts us at 9 members. The final spot is currently open.

The current weekday events started on Monday (and run through Friday) so there won't be anything we can play until this weekend at the earliest. This week's events had only one team member playing each day, with five total events.

Hey Monkeyboy,

I have been reading over the information available.

The current leagues all have 5x5 games. 5 days, with 5 tournaments each day. They word it as if they will change/modify this # (like 3 tournaments or whatever each day) but it looks lik ethey are staying with 5 for now. So, each "game" you sign up for needs 5 players each day. The weekend games look the same - but only run for 3 days.

The wallet system is pretty confusing. You need to sign up for the game in order to both pay and be paid. You do not have to play to get a share of the cash.

If you win a tournament, you receive the 1% (or whatever they award for that specific game) directly - it is not shared.

Ready for the tricky part?

Lets say that you have 10 players and that they all are in town and ready to play. They all sign up for one of the weeklong events.

Monkeyman sets up the games. The event cost is taken out evenly from every player signed up.

You guys rock and roll and take 1st. Yay.

Now - is the prize money evenly distributed amongst the players?

I will give you a minute to answer.......................................................

Not always.

What? We all paid the same you say.

Nope

Payouts are based on wallet share. Buyins are taken evenly. So if everyone had 50 in except for that cheapskate Yeltzin who only placed in 25, Yeltzin would only receive 50% of what everyone else gets. If one guy wins a lot - then his share will start to grow more than th eothers since they will win the bonus money (alone) on top of the group wins.

According to the website, this can be used to manipulate or set up payouts based on each player. For instance - the teams are in place for 6 months and we each lose 2 players. We are very successful - but need additional players. We can have tryouts for a week or so, and require that they deposit only enough for them to have a 1/2 share of the wallet until they prove themselves.

One of the tough things - is that you cannot add a player once the team is officially registered. if you only have 5 guys signed up - and the captain hits teh button, then no more are allowed. Someone is sick or working, and you have nobody playing the slot (If you have players, you can change up to 20 minutes before the event)

I'm glad that I am good at math. This is involved.
