Chips: 1,555 | | | Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters I saw that SpaceMonkey was able to accept my membership. I've put $50 into the team wallet last night.
Just out of interest, I looked around at possible team events were going on and saw that the majority of the events are $50 to $100. Does this mean that the team deposit is $50 total per event or is that $50 per individual who participates in that event? Hopefully it's just $50 per event and up to 6+ people can participate. Otherwise, this could be a very expensive thing to participate in if it's $50 a shot per person. It would then be a win your 1st event or bust scenario.
SpaceMonkey - could you clarify this when you have a chance? Is it one fee per team per event - or 1 fee per person per event? Thanks.
Oh and seeing how events can happen most any day of the week, I am available most evenings except Tuesdays. I live in the Mountain time zone and can normally play from 6:30pm - 10:30pm Mountain time during the week. Weekends vary based on family activities. So the more time in advance for any events the better.
I think I remember reading that 6 people per team per event could compete. If the team commits to 6 players then we need to send 6 players else we will be at a disadvantage. So for all team mates, if you commit to an event you need to be there or else we need to get a replacement for you. |

we think it's $50 for team entry. if it's $50 per person, then we'll just be packing it up now... |

Another thing to think about is the entry fees charged by Pokerroom. It's typically $50+5 from what I see. That extra $5 per event may mean we need to all put in $55 instead of $50 for an initial wallet share.
I like the concept, but if Pokerroom is going to only use large $$ entries then may have to rethink it. |

Chips: 100 | | | Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters According to the tutorial, the buy-in fee (e.g., $50) is the total buy-in for the entire team. A percentage of that amount is deducted from all members of the team who are registered for an event and the percentage is based on their share of the Team Wallet. Looking at our Team Wallet now, it looks like 5 people have put in $50 each. Each of us has a 20% stake in the Team Wallet. So, if all 5 of us were to register for a $50 buy-in event, 20% of the $50 buy-in would come out of the $50 we deposited ($10 each).
I think this is right.

Chips: 7,798 | | | Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters The event buy-ins listed are per team, not per person. The max a team can start off with is 500 total, so there's no way a team could afford a 100+10 or 200+x event if each team had to come up with 5 buy ins.
We'll be playing only 50+5's for the time being until we can beef up our bankroll. The way this thing works, a percentage of the 55 comes out of each person that registers for an event, regardless of whether they play in the event or not.
For instance, there's a 50+5 9pm EST team event this week that last 5 days. All 9 of us can sign up for the event this evening (say by 8pm). I then assign team members to play each of the 5 days, and all 9 get a percentage of any prize pool we win.
(Note, I believe I read that all 9 would get a percentage of the prize pool even if only 5 register, pay the entry fee and then play. I'm pretty sure this is the case, so I'll be looking for all team members to register for all events we decide to play in)
I'm hoping we can play this week starting tonight. |

Chips: 9,819 | | | Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters Still confused here...
- Is someone or you supposed to suggest an event?
- We agree to all sign up i.e. register? Are we all planning on signing up for a pre-arranged week of play or are we going to leave this opened eneded i.e. only those playing and those that even if they're not playing but want to partake in the prize pool sign up?
- Everyone tells you when/if they can play
- Space buys-in for the team
- Space schedules the who/when
- We begin Tiltmania on whatever assigned night... still not sure what we're playing... sounded at first like it was HU matches but seemed league play was simulataneous SnG's?? Team player finishes were scored by some point system and then ranked at the end of the series of SnG's... is this more or less right? Can one player play in more than one round if someone drops out or is it one player per round hence 5 days - 5 player minimun to sign up??
What decides the number of players we need for these events or does it matter? Will there be more than one team member playing on a given night?
I'm in regardless just trying to figure what that is

Chips: 7,798 | | | Re: Introducing the ChipTalk Tilters You've got the jist of it Fins. Here's everything else I've been able to gather over the past couple days:
Anyone can suggest an event. I had suggested the 9pm weekday 50+5 for this week, but it filled up with 20 teams before I got home. So we won't be able to play until this weekend at the earliest.
So, yes, anyone of us can suggest an event. A minimum of 5 of us have to register in order for us to qualify. These weekday tournaments consist of 5 daily SnG's (and in this case with 20 teams, a 2 table SnG). Once enough people register, I sign us up for the event, and then the buy-in is deducted evenly amongst all those on the team that registered for the event.
-Note, again from what I've read on their message boards, while only those who register for an event have to pay the buy in, all team members get a piece of the prize pool. So for any event we decide to play, I'll be looking for all members to register.
Once we have payed for an event, I assign 5 different people to play on the five different nights. You cannot play with less than 5 players. But 10 members can register for the event, even if they're not going to play.
From the events I've seen, only one team player plays per night, and 5 different players have to play in the week long tourney. Not sure what happens if only 5 register and then on Friday that final player can't play. SOL I believe. That's a second reason for all of us to sign up for every event we decide to play as a team.
Let me know if I've answered all your questions, or if you have any more. I'll be sending out an email later this week to gauge all our schedules. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
