Re: Best Home Poker Setup Contest

sorry guys my home poker room was a bit untidy when i snapped this shot, so i hope it's okay:

the best thing about it is the staff. they're great. thanks guys, you always make me feel at home.
(but i don't remember the guys with the shotguns, who invited them?...)

jldecarlo, you have a really nice dining room/poker room. Is that a poker table top on top of your dining table or do you take the dining table out?

The copper top comes off, and the playing surface is underneath. The rail is stored under a bed in our guest room and it goes on to turn the table into a poker table.

Re: Best Home Poker Setup Contest

Well I have "officially" set up the GPT and I took lots of pics, both before and after so everyone could see the transition. But I forgot the cable at school (where I teach) so you all will just have to wait until tomorrow morning to see the place!!

Re: Best Home Poker Setup Contest

Well here is what you all have been waiting for!

Here are the before pics!! Lots of Junk around isnt there!!!

This is my daughters doll house. I got it free when a kid in my class used it for a project two years ago. Its a fixer upper but has 3 stories!!

Here is a shot of the chip storage area next to the fridge. Many of my chips are stored in the TASK FORCE case. Most are in chip boxes.

Here are the after shots! No more junk now!!!

This is from the open garage door.

Wall decorum. This hangs up all the time, showing my dedication to the GPT!! Those signs are hand painted.

Close up of the Dogs Playing Poker Rug, which my parents bought and hung on thier living room wall when I was a baby! (That makes it 32 years old!!!)

These are tables. No really I know that you know that.

I have had 3 tables set up at a time, and one time I even had 4 tables in here. It was majorly cramped though. Majorly!!! Usually there are between 15 and 18 guys. The largest tournament was the GPT Invitational, and I had 25 at three tables. But for the that event I opened the garage door and set up a large tent that was closed in on 3 sides. We set up two tables for cash games while the tournament was finishing up.

Woodstove allows for great games to be held year round!! Old man winter has nothing on me!!

Tournament Rules. Always posted so there's no bitchin!!

Cash Set. Sopranos. They may be cheap chips but the guys love 'em!!

Tournanment Set. Faux Clays. Again they may be cheap chips but they really get the job done. These are also gonna look outstanding once I get my labels in the Spring! The purple, yellow, and grey will be used with my plaques as a large denom T175K tournament.

This is the entertainment area. Extremely high tech old school TV with, yes that's right a VCR. Plus the mandatory tapes of WPT, WSOP, and Poker Royale shows!!

Well thanks for taking a peek at the official home of the GARAGE POKER TOUR !!!!!!!

Re: Best Home Poker Setup Contest

My humble entry. It a refinshed basement, added the wood stove, built walls and the closets, added a window, put down the cork floor (yes cork - and actually ever so slightly springy), suspended ceiling, all electrical. Still have some trim work and painiting to do. I built the table top to sit on an existing table, just 4x4 square with a fixed woodedn edge - maybe got $15 into it.
Just picked up the foosball table used - for $75. Covered poker table. Sleeper couch. Dart board. TV. Last pic is dog - see why I love those Lab Paulsons? Thanks for looking!

Isn't that the truth. If I wasn't constrained by things like family and work, I would suggest a road trip. How many of these rooms could we play in in 7 days?
