According to my calculations and after observing the current jet stream flucuations I have determined the date to be the 14th of December.

okay, i know that i can't change my original pick, but even before i submitted that one, i had a gut feeling that the 2000 mark would be hit during thanksgiving holidays (lots of people with lots of free time). but after i did the math, the math told me that it would most likely happen around december 30th based on past new member activity. suddenly, however, as soon as this contest went up, new members started flocking in by the droves, and it now appears that my original gut feeling was more than likely fairly correct... perhaps we're going exponential...
