Chips: 13,075 | | | Chip Talk Fantasy Poker League? During the port of the old site to the new a poll that I put up about 4 player teams has gotten a little discussion. I think it would be very easy to put together a fantasy league based on Card Player statistics. Anyone interested? Obviously we'd have to wait for next year to start.

(This post would have been shorter than ten characters, which is "too short" according to the server. Therefore, I am posting these three additional useless sentences to make my post long enough to actually appear as a post. That's a lot of work for one chip, assuming chips are being properly rewarded for posts on this new site.) |

Chips: 4,240 | | | Re: Chip Talk Fantasy Poker League? I like this idea; would it be in conjunction with the CT tournaments so that players would participate for individual points and team points? The only difficult part I see in having a team game is picking groups of 4 players so that each team was relatively balanced. A good idea though, definitely worth looking into further.

Chips: 139 | | | Re: Chip Talk Fantasy Poker League? There couldn't be duplicates, so there'd have to be rounds of picking. Each person gets a first round pick and so on, some how the order would have to be done randomly, like picking seats for a tourney.

Chips: 4,240 | | | Re: Chip Talk Fantasy Poker League? Doh! I just realized that the original post meant that we would pick actual poker pro's and get points based on their performances; for whatever reason, I thought the intent was to form groups of 4 CT members and have a league that would compete on Thursday nights.
Now that I have been shown the light (thanks to evil's post) I am still in favour of such an action....although I have to admit I liked the idea of being on a team with guys like FSU, No Heuvos, and Jojo....that would be sweet.

there's no reason why there couldn't be players that were on more than one member's team. even if vreck and i had the same 5 players (extremely unlikely), and we tied for first, we'd have some sort of tiebreaker in place...like ordering your guys 1-5 for the last major tourny of the year or something like that.
it seems like that would make more sense than organizing a fantasy football type serpentine draft. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
