Chips: 13,254 | | | 2nd Chiptalk Tournament Series -- Second Chance Tournament We’ve discussed a second tournament set (apart from our regular Thursday night NLHE tournament) in other threads. We’ve generally reached agreement on a rotating format of mixed games (7-stud, 7-stud hi/lo, Omaha, Omaha hi/lo, heads-up NLHE, etc.). We have agreed that this is not part of the quarterly point system as with the NLHE tournament, and is just another tourney for fun among Chiptalk players.
We have not agreed on a night, and there does not appear to be a consensus on the best alternative night. I think this is the only thing holding us back from having already started this second series. Many are unavailable on each possible night we’ve thrown out. How about Thursday night, starting one-hour later than the regular tournament? The reasons:
-- its when the most players will be available and are already one-line
-- about half the field is out of the regular tourney by then, so it would serve as a second chance tournament for those losers (which lately includes me)
-- for most, if you’re still in the main tournament, playing two tables is not too hard.
So, whaddya think? Second tournament starting one hour after our regular tourney? |

Chips: 15,974 | | | it's a good idea. i wouldn't play it simultaneously with the nlhe tourny, though, b/c the mixed game would include too many weak points for me.
i can play two hold 'em tables with no problem b/c i know the game well. a mixed game though... |

Chips: 4,613 | | I'd play in a second tourney, but a 10:30 EST starting time is getting a little late for an East Coast working man like me.
Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents. | I'm interested but I gotta agree, getting a little late for us east coasters. Actually wish we could start the regular tourney around 8:00pm or 8:30....

Chips: 1,555 | | | I voted NO for starting 1 hour after the Thursday night tourney. For the majority of the folks, its getting too late as it is for the Thursday night tourney to end (after midnight eastern time). I'd much prefer it be on a different night than Thursday. Sunday nite's would work for me as others have suggested.
Mixing up the games is a good idea - variety is the spice of life and poker. |

Chips: 4,240 | | | I also voted No to the idea of having it on the same night, but I have indicated interest in the second night of rotating poker games so my only problem is having them both on the same night.
