Agreed, again. I think the colors (of the clay only) improve as the denominations get higher--the bright orange $10 and the color combo on the $20 is pretty sweet--but that inlay drags the whole design down.

I don't think you can separate the two (clay choice from inlay design) so with that amateurish inlay I have to say the new rack looks like it came from one of those auctions on ebay with the cheap aluminum case holding 600 "real casino quality 11.5g" chips.

Bellagio should have offered a "new rack design competition" on Chiptalk.

The chips themself are nice, but the inlays suck...

Anybody good in photoshop and can paste the old inlays in the new chips??

Re: Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV - New rack (in phases)

Oof, you guys are mean. I'm not crazy about the chips, but they are that, bad. I suppose I wasn't super attached to the old ones though.

Anyway, [url=http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showthread.php?t=196277I found a thread about them at 2+2... [/url]seems people are arguing over weights? Also have some talk about them being RFID? Sounds like more gossip than fact, but thought I'd bring it up.

Re: Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV - New rack (in phases)

Well gang... I got to see and handle almost all of the new chips in the rack.

Good news is... They don't look horrible in play. In stacks they look elegant. In the pot they really stand out against the felt.

on the bad side. They are individually ugly. One of my favorite chips is now gone, the $10. And there is even worse news.

They feel much lighter! It is as if they are using the home recipe for the chips. They feel like the top hats on the suits mold.

I sure hope I'm wrong...

Re: Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV - New rack (in phases)

I agree with harlequin, the 1's and 5's look awesome stacked up and piled in the pot. I picked up a few 1's to keep along with a 5 and a 25.

When I was there, the new 100's, 500's and 1000's were available. I didn't get any pictures though.

Weird, I was playing blackjack and colored up about 175 worth and they handed me an old 100. When I returned on my final day to cash them in (without my camera) the new larger denominations were out and the dealer spoke to the pit boss about dumping my old 100 into the cash box.

Re: Bellagio, Las Vegas, NV - New rack (in phases)

i would love to have a 20 chip like that for a home set, those look awsome, the other molds just kinda look generic.
