Guess Jim's still on vacation, so I will post this one. He'll come back and catch you up on the three new LV issues, but in Atlantic City we had the final release of the year with the Trump Plaza Season's Greetings $5.00 chip.

Can you get these currently at the casino cashier cage?

You should be able to get them, they made them in quantity 500 but that's usually more than enough for Atlantic City. They will sell the Limited Edition chips from the cage.

Are they cancelled chips? If not, I guess they're charging face value for them ( $5 a piece) right?

They're not cancelled and they're not selling for $5 a piece. Probably selling for between $8-$15 dollars. That's the normal markup right away. In a few years it can jump significantly on these (usually only a few thousand made).

For clarity...

The casino can only sell them for face value ($5).

It is the re-sellers that mark them up to $7.50 - $10, unless they are in demand.
