Chips: 10,807 | | | Aquarius, Laughlin, NV - New casino, new rack! The chip collecting community has been awaiting the remodel and opening of the old Flamingo - Laughlin, Hotel and Casino, since it was sold some many months ago. Although sold, the property continued as the Flamingo - Laughlin all during the remodel, but emerges today as the Aquarius Hotel and Casino, Laughlin, NV.
According to CC>CC member Richard Loritz, the Aquarius has just re-racked all the tables with Aquarius chips and pulled all the Flamingo - Laughlin chips.
Here is a scan of the new chips:
(scan courtesy of Richard Loritz)
Note that the lower denominations are Paul-Son H&C's, while the higher denomination is a Paul-Son house molded chip. I am sure that these will be available shortly from all the Southern Nevada NIS people, as well as Richard ( loritz@cmaaccess.com) .
Interesting to note also, that Richard advises that chips are not available from the cage. You can only get them from the tables.

1-that $25 is great, it looks like the Desert Palms $25
2-what is that 'I' in Aquarius supposed to be? it looks like an earthworm burrowing into a strawberry. |

I wonder why they didn’t use their house mold on all of them. |

I've actually held up the DP up to my chip and the colors are remarkably close.
Is it me or do a lot of the new chips coming out seem to use the 1/8" style spots much more than older chips? |

Chips: 28 | | | Re: Aquarius, Laughlin, NV - New casino, new rack! Nice chips. Thanks Jim. One observation, though:
Have you guys noticed that some of the chips designed by our own CTers rival, if not surpass, the chips designed by casinos? (taking into account the restrictions placed on us, i.e. edgespots and molds).
Nice find tho Jim. Where could one get a few of the $1s?
