Chips: 10,507 | | | The Nevada Gaming Control Board, on a... monthly basis, publishes (on-line) a "Chip and Token Report". Listed are chips and tokens that the Gaming Control Board has approved for relaease/use by the various Nevada gaming establishments. Any and all released chips and tokens MUST be on the list, however, not all listed items must be released/issued by the casino, and certainly not within a specific timeframe of approval.
So chips have appeared in the approvals years ago, but have never been released. Some are approved and released the very next month.
Here is the link to the Nevada Gaming Control Board's "Chip and Token Report" page. Releases from the individual past 12 months are individual pdf files, while everything before that is a single pdf file, going back to December, 1990.
Many collectors use this information to know that a casino intends to do a new chip and then they call the casino cage to ask when it will be released, or if its now in circulation, as many casino do not advertise release of chips (but some do, like the 4 Queens, Hard Rock, Hooters, to name a few). http://gaming.nv.gov/chip_token_rpt.htm

They will have multiple tournaments going simultaneously (they did last year when they realized they could not finish the 1 day events in under 2 days). So you need to differentiate the chips. And I think the $50K HORSE event is gonna take days. |

Thanks again. | I appreciate the thought, however, Ross also added to this thread and more importantly, I often consult the works of others and just consolidate it into what appears to be a single source.
All-in-all, I would love to write a book, but many goods one have been done before me and mine would be too big. Perhaps that is why I write so much on these messages boards (ChipTalk.net is my Lone Ranger), they are an endless book.
I thank you for the comment.
