PNY Values

By jctc at 2012-07-08

I'm considering whether to put my PNYs up for sale. So as not to bend the rules here (even thought I've not decided to sell my set(s) yet) I will buy a blank WTS ad so CT gets its WTB revenue.

I have quite a few (3612 including 160 Matsui plaques) and that might affect the prices. I own the majority of the Matsui plaques out there, and you can see some of them below at the end of the Windy City Blowout Tourney. When you're giving opinion about prices, please factor in that I don't want to end up with odd bits, so if I decide to sell, I want to move the whole set (either cash or tourney).

By jctc at 2012-06-03

Its been a while since I've bought any, and I'm interested in opinions/advice (given my description above) what current fair per-chip values are for:

$1 PNY in excellent condition (622) - cash set
$5 PNY in excellent condition (602) - cash set
$20 PNY in excellent condition (104) - cash set
$25 PNY primary in excellent condition (512) - tourney set
$25 PNY secondary in excellent condition (324) - cash set
$100 PNY primary in excellent condition (40) - cash set
$100 PNY secondary in excellent condition (625) - tourney set
$500 PNY primary in excellent condition (424) - tourney set
$1000 Matsui PNY commemorative plaque (100) - tourney set
$5000 Matsui PNY commemorative plaque (60) - tourney set
6 Ceramic 2-inch PNY dealer buttons
30 PNY Bounty chips
30 PNY Show-em chips

thx,

Jeff

Re: PNY Values

Recent prices:

$20s are getting $9-10/chip
$100 primaries $3-4/chip
$500 primaries ~$7.50/chip

$5s are the cheapest. $1s are probably close to $100 primaries and $25 primaries are probably about $2 each. Secondary 25 & 100 a little bit less I think than their primary brothers.

i don't think the $1s are getting any higher than $2.50. i bought 4 or 5 racks of them in the past 12 months and didn't pay more than $2 for any.

Average prices since I've been following them (went back thru some old threads):

$1s: 175-200 per rack
$5s: 80-100 per rack
$25 primaries: 85-105 per rack
$25 secondaries: 95-110 per rack
$100 (either): 165-185 per rack

$500s (either): 450-475 per rack (somewhat difficult to move a whole rack)
$20s: 475-550 per rack (hard to move a full rack)

(sigh) I might be interested in some of these. I miss my PNYs.

Group buy evar. You'll have trouble moving the whole set to a single buyer. Most people won't need an entire set. Others will will want the 25ps for cash instead of tourney or will want a few 500s for cash. You'll want to run a GB for these, or sell them by the rack but not commit until all are spoken for kind of thing.

Re: PNY Values

The 20s and 100/500s have definitely gone up since these prices. Even the 25 primaries have gone up because they are getting scarce. The prices I listed above were from either sales I made personally within the last month or 2 and/or ebay & classified sales over the past month or 2.

You'll definitely do batter if you part it out like Berg said though. I doubt you'd get one buyer for the whole amazing set.

Re: PNY Values

i think the $20s have gone for $200/stack on ebay recently. off ebay it's been about $8-$10/chip. the $500s have been about $7-$8/chip, but since you have a lot, you would probably have to lower that.

No one knows better than GC!

Also be prepared to ship to France, they snapped up most of my 1,000 chips that I sold last month or so... Good Luck if you sell.
