I know that is not exactly what you want to hear and I am pretty sure I know why you are asking, but that is the truth. There are several people here that have a bunch of them and they have been trying to sell them for a long time. They have every right to ask what ever they want and hold out for as long as they please. It seems that they do sell slowly at top dollar, but you really have to be patient.
Here is my take:
I love chips as much as the next guy, but Keep in mind that I will pretty much buy anything that I think is a good deal and I would sell just about anything that I thought I was getting top dollar for. As a buyer I would not pay much more than what the going rate for new custom ASM labeled chips. Why, because I am going to have a hard time selling them for much more than that. That puts them at $1.25 - $1.50 max as a buyer, maybe lower. Now as a seller, I would do the same as others here are doing and try and hold out for the $2.00 - $2.50 or even $3/chip that some chips might eventually sell for.
(For most everyone else here)
Just for the record, if you really like them and pay the $2.00 - $2.50/chip knowing that you probably will have a hard time selling them for what you bought them for, so what! They are beautiful chips and it will be no worse than if you try and sell custom chips. Furthermore, if you are buying them to play with them and not for resale then it really does not matter all that much anyway.

I kinda have a feeling why you're asking this question too. I am in the process of rounding out my sample set of Palmas chips. This is going to be one of my (if not THE) pride of my collection at this point.

Chips: 1,132 | | | Re: ASM Palmas values I've seen the email you sent to my brother and asked him to have you email me direct, but that said, seeing as I may be the only one who has the rarest of the set in my possession....I set the value. But also that value is fixed based upon what I paid for them so I either keep them or try and sell them for the same price I paid. This is not even remotely close to a profit making venture for me, these Palmas chips. I just want to break even.
And to date, over the past year, I have sold the 12 sets of the 6 (of 14) ultra rare chips at my asking price and will not lower it because of those who have already purchased at that price. Yes, $100 for the $100 pink split edge spot chip is a lot, but considering that only 22 are known to be in circulation from the original 100, that makes them quite rare.
The RD $1's as well, there are only a few hundred of those as are the $500 US lavender and $5000 RD yellow. The green with split white $25 US is also one of those that no one ever seems to have around. |

Chips: 198 | | | Re: ASM Palmas values Thanks for all of the input. I hope I didn't offend anyone by asking the question. My intent was more to be an informed buyer rather then to challenge the seller(s). This is my first experience with purchasing chips of this high of a value and I didn't want to just walk in blind. I do sincerely hope to purchase the 6 chip sample set in the near future but before doing so I wanted to make sure I knew as much about these chips as there was to know. Thanks again and I look forward to holding these beauties in my hands one day soon! Quote:
