InPlay clay chip thread at the ChipBoard

I'm posting this here because it seems the best place. There are some sample sets for sale on the ChipBoard and one of them is a few of the InPlay clays from Sidepot. A very respected member there, Gene Trimble, wanted to know what was meant by InPlay so I explained. Another very respected member there, David Spragg, is saying I'm wrong and that the chips are Top Hat and Cane chips from a real casino. They are clearly the cigar and snifter mold but he says he disagrees with me entirely.

Anybody care to take a look and tell me I haven't gone crazy?

http://www.thechipboard.com/cgi-bin/...pl/read/625839

If I'm wrong I'll want to apologize to Mr Spragg but it just seems crazy that any casino would copy the Sidepot chips... Chip ID help please...

Thanks,

Neil

You are right... These are in fact BCC Sidepot In Play Clays. Not sure why he thinks these are TH&C's. Might have to get his eyes checked.

You're right - keep it polite like you have. I'm sure Jim (GO) will post as well.

Obviously, the guy is wrong, they aren't paulson. Plus his banner ad in his post is annoying and a waste of space and bandwidth. Visiting the chipboard just now only reminds me of how painfully awful their forum software is and how slow each page loads.

Re: InPlay clay chip thread at the ChipBoard

Thanks for the confirmation!

I was only trying to help out. I'm a new member of the CC&GTCC so I'm trying to contribute where possible but I don't want to tick off some of the biggest names in the club and maybe I'm being hypersensitive(not my usual nature), but the responses I got sound a bit testy so I think I'll just shut up and mind my own business from now on.

Best regards and thanks,

Neil

Re: InPlay clay chip thread at the ChipBoard

He's completely wrong - those are Cigar & Snifter chips.

I love how he generalized the "Faux clay" reference for ALL the people at Chiptalk. Was that a semi "shot" at CT? (not acusing just axin)

FCN is taking over everwhere--VIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: InPlay clay chip thread at the ChipBoard

Someday I'm going to have to get my hands on some of the Faux Clay of which we speak to see what all the fun is about!! I was pretty surprised to see the term applied to everything over here but it was a little funny. Mr Spragg is one of the big guys over there - he has a lot of knowledge and, from what I've seen is well respected.

Best regards,

Neil

Re: InPlay clay chip thread at the ChipBoard

As you may have noticed, David has posted that he was wrong (small monitor).

Gene, it would appear, took the term "in play" to be his definition (i.e., a current, in-use casino chip) and not as a brand name or manufacturer's style name. Same with "modern clay".

I think it is all straightened out now and I applaud Neil for his staying cool!

[enter wayback machine] He obviously didn't click on the pic. The full size version is big enough to distinguish details on a cell phone browser. Dave is a nice guy and very accommodating to deal with, but you would think he would know how to use Google to find a sample. [/exit wayback machine]
