Any of these worth anything?

I was bored this afternoon so I scanned all my casino chips, mostly from a 2005 trip to Vegas, so don't expect anything exotic.

See any that are worth more than about face value?

Yeah, there all worth a buck a piece, they're all current chips as far as I can tell,, except maybe the moneymaker binions...and that may be worth less than face value

Re: Any of these worth anything?

I think the Binions, Luxor, and Stratosphere may be retired.

I thought that Moneymaker was worth thousands!

Re: Any of these worth anything?

Funny I just noticed that I have the Stratosphere chip but with the Sunburst mold.

I guess that 4aces would love the middle chip in the top row.

Re: Any of these worth anything?

Actually, generally speaking, a current, in very good condition, $1 (USD) chip from a Las Vegas casino (or even any US casino) will be worth around $3. That is the going retail rate. It is always possible to get them for less, but generally speaking they will go for between $1.99 and $3.

With respect to your 2005 Las Vegas visit, you covered quite a few casinos and then some! (Canada and Louisiana?)

Anyway, you are correct, some of those chips are now obsolete, or no longer in-play. Unfortunately, this does not change their values. Thsoe no longer in-use are:

Luxor (Chipco)
Excalibur (Paul-Son)
Bally's/Paris (Chipco)
Binion's (Horseshoe) (Paul-Son)

I am not sure about the Flamingo (Bud Jones) and the Aladdin may go away after Planet Hollywood is fully in-place.

This grouping is a respectible start!

Congratulations and thanks for posting them.

If nothing else, they're certainly worth a trade or three, if you're interested. I have a PM button, and know how to use it...

(And yep, 7th, I love that chip, but have it already. Thanks for thinking of me though!)

I had a feeling you got it but since you posted the want list thread I think of you every time I see a rose. Not to mention all the others on the list that strongly influenced my perception the last weeks.

This is, of course, exactly as it should be. Think of roses, think of chips, think of me...heh

Seriously though, thanks. And thanks also, develvjd-, for your speedy reply; I buzzed you right back.
