My friend runs his own landscaping business just by himself and is doing a job for a guy who used to work in a casino. The guy gave him a set of chips one day and I was wondering if anyone had any info on them. What im looking for is:
- Value
- Make of chip
- Where I can find more if possible
- And anything else you can tell me about them
Here is a pic, He also has a bunch of the same chip but green and 25$
Indications are this is a chip from a roving casino operation in Canada. I only know a little about casino operations in Canada, but at one time gaming, for charities was/is allowed and the casinos were mobile. They would set at an a Church or recreation area and offer gaming.
The Metro Casinos of Canada appear to be a closed operation, i.e., out of business. Here is a link to a webpage maintained by Michael Behiel, although it has not been updated lately.
Michael does not show a $25, HOWEVER, that is not unusual. If you have access to one, a scan would be great!
Please feel free to contact Michael (his email addy is linked there) and let him know you are researching them. He can propably offer a stab at a value and will likely want a scan of the $25. I'm sure he will give you scanning credit if he posts the scan.
I don't recall "Metro Casinos" specifically, but there used to be a bunch of charity casinos all across Toronto, but they've all been shut down for years now.
Johnny5! Thanks! I was typing so fast I forgot the link. The one you provide goes to Michaels Home Page. This one goes directly to a gallery of other Metro Casinos chips:
