The colors and edge spot pattern on the $100K look sweet. I love that chip.
Since we started the Protege contest, we've got some additional options on edge spot patterns. The horseshoe pattern is one that's pretty intersting. A single spot is another (may work well for one of the new low denoms). And I'm pretty confident we can get an 8V for the $100,000 chip as it will likely be made in limited quantities. Could use the your mock-ed up $100K colors for the $25K, and come up with an 8V for the new $100K. Anyways, some things to consider...

Chips: 1,153 | | | Re: Protege Delay Status as of 12/19/2006 I propose moving the discussion of Non-denominated chips to another thread (or rename this one and create a new status update thread).
This one was originally intended to provide updates on delivery of the original chips.
Now, when the thread is updated, its not clear on whether its about the status or about the new chip designs without opening the thread.
Just a suggestion. |

Happy New Year! I spoke with the manufacturer this morning. It seems the holiday season slowed things down a bit production wise, but they're back to work now and digging out. They are still waiting on inlays for the Protege chips, and will know more tomorrow at which point they'll give me a more accurate update.
For those of you who don't know, we're considering adding a number of new denominations and NCV chips to the Protege set. The wheels are starting to turn here, so I'll start a separate thread on that topic specifically.
Thanks again for your patience, and I hope to have good news soon.

This is shocking that they cant get these chips out sooner. Hell, Paulson released shaped inalys about a month ago and these Protege chips were supposed to be cutting edge. Blue Chip dropped the ball or Sidepot shouldnt of been guessing with a October Delivery date. Either way this is a disaster...

Chips: 349 | | | Re: Protege Delay Status as of 12/19/2006 The longer this goes means these chips better be primo. If so, everyone will forget about the long wait. If not, people are going to complain. This chip has a lot potential in the market place regardless of the price. |

I'm not going to take the time to try and summarize and recap the different status reports, but here's a "telling" sign-
8/24 - inlays are in print
12/13 - printer had moved, printer working on inlays
12/19 - waiting for inlays
1/2 - waiting for inlays
I'm no printer of inlays, but this seems very odd. |

If sidepot is just amking stuff up (which I highly doubt since they wants these done as much as the next guy) then they are to blame. Regardless, this is INSANE!!!
