Hardest decision of the first round for me. I absolutely love the Caveat concept, and the final design is awesome, but it almost feels a little too bold for these chips. Maybe if we could design another chip set around this label?

Not sure how I feel about the world design in isolation, but something about the two-tone color matched globes just "works" on this set for me.

It's like you were in my head when you typed that. I feel EXACTLY the same way. I love the Caveat designs, but I think they need a bolder chip to go on. They just don't match this set, IMO. The simplicity of the globe design was initially a turn off for me, but that did a quick 180 when I stopped to study it.

Hey, if I get to the end, you KNOW I'm redesigning the heck out of the colors to suit this design.

The fact that you and 2_hotty saying the same thing about the 'simplicity' of Brakedust's inlay winning you over points
out the tough problem of designing the inlay as the dominant design element of the entire chip or more respectful of the chip design and being less "up front".

This competition started as an inlay design competition.
The group collective design solution for designing each denom's color and edgespot color and configuration created a set that does not
necessarily tie together well. I understand Sidepot's motives in doing so to build consensus behind the process and involvement but
that move resulted in a set that has strong points and weak points.

The one weak point that I think hurts inlay designs like mine is that I don't have total control over the whole package.
Other people have found ways around this, but I'm a bit bull headed.
So yes, the default chip set may look like its competing with the inlay design. My imagined final set wouldn't.

Just a few thoughts, given what pankwindu and 2_hotty have said.

I think a soft off-white or parchment colored ring to replace the bold yellow ring would do the trick... You could probably even leave the center inlay image the bold yellow.

I find the denom "handle" a very interesting feature...

Touché! That's an interesting point. Are we voting for a chip, or an inlay? I guess I'm a little bit confused on what to think now. Voting for inlays in isolation I would switch my vote to yours. Voting on inlays with more appropriate chip colors, I would probably vote for yours. But putting it on the consensus chip colors sort of penalizes it in terms of the overall look, and Sidepot has to sell the whole chip, not just the inlay. If I am supposed to ignore the chips and focus on the inlays, well then what was the point of the past couple months of voting? It almost seems like the idea of having a level playing field (base chip colors) is actually having an opposite effect, putting you at a disadvantage since you don't get to frame your inlay in the best light....
