Focused Feedback Schedule (Please Read)

FOCUSED FEEDBACK SCHEDULE
Poll Unanimous, so issue decided. We're moving forward with a focused feedback calendar. To give each chip a fair amount of feedback, the following calendar will designate certain days where we focus feedback/comments on a small sub-segment of the submissions. I'm out of pocket the 5th thru the 9th, so I can't do the sticky thing that JM suggested for this week (if some mod can step in to make the appropriate posts sticky, or is someone can post in other forums to bring attention to the selected designs, great), but I'll try to do that next week. For this week, I'll ask that the CT community try to stick to the feedback calendar below.

Wednesday, July 5th - Focus feedback on contestants 1 (imthatguy), 2 (grath), and 3 (Fins)
Thursday, July 6th - Focus feedback on contestants 4 (cmoses), 5 (Magus_23), and 6 (DoubleDeuce)
Friday, July 7th - Focus feedback on contestants 7 (Rowlin), 8 (beowulfe), and 9 (BrakeDust)

Monday, July 10th - Focus feedback on contestants 10 (JM), 11 (9_baller), and 12 (Stank1000)
Tuesday, July 11th - Focus feedback on contestants 13 (JumpingJack), 14 (mizuchaud), and 15 (Poboy)
Wednesday, July 12th - Focus feedback on contestants 16 (OnTheButton), 17 (algavan), and 18 (JT-Bird)
Thursday, July 13th - Focus feedback on contestants 19 (PinataUT), 20 (VegasMike), and 21 (Johnny5)
Friday, July 14th - Focus feedback on contestants 22 (X-Files), 23 (FL70), and 24

Sorry if the calendar is too early or too late for some of you, but we have to balance a lot here, so this was easiest. If you need more targeted feedback (outside of your scheduled day), I'd recommend using the "Custom Chip" forum in addition to this Protege forum. And anyone else who submits can be squeezed in on the weekends on the calendar.

Obviously, you can give feedback to any contestant at any time, but this focused feedback calendar is designed to ensure we give every concept a fair amount of attention to flush it out to the best of it's potential.

Lastly, I'd like to personally thank everyone who has submitted an inlay design thus far. As a show of gratitude, I'd like to offer a free 10-chip sample of the heavier (9.7g) Cigar & Snifter chips to all those who have submitted up to this point (if you don't already have them from winning the color competition). PM me your address information, and I'll get a chip sample out to you.

Re: Focused Feedback - Yeah or Nay?

Excellent idea. Certainly wouldn't want any submissions to be ignored amidst the high volume of excellent entries.

You're to be commended, SidePot. This has been an amazingly well-run design effort and I can just imagine that the group buy will be equally trouble-free.

Kudos.

Re: Focused Feedback - Yeah or Nay?

I like the idea of a focused feedback but if its any way possible I'd feel much better pushing my time (#6) back to a later date. There are already a bunch of well-polished submissions and mine is still on the drawing board. Possibly I could flip-flop dates with somebody?

Lots of excellent designs out there...I've got a lot of work to do to make it presentable.

Thumbs up Re: Focused Feedback - Yeah or Nay?

I really like this idea -- with so many entries, I think this will allow all of them to benefit from feedback directed specifically at that design. Otherwise, I fear that people might concentrate their efforts on just a few possibilities, and others might get lost in the shuffle.

Re: Focused Feedback - Yeah or Nay?

I like this idea too. A couple of suggestions to go along with it:

Make the ones to focus on those days stick posts, that way they will be at the top of the forum when people drop by.

Try to group it so that maybe there's 1 'finished', one partially finished, and one conceptual in each group. That way you get a good variety to look at and comment on each day.

Re: Focused Feedback - Yeah or Nay?

Great idea. Once I saw how my submission compared to the others I was ready to hang it up, but some of the comments I have already received have encouraged me. I may not come up with a winner, but I know it will help me produce a much better submission.

Thanks for all the work, sidepot. And thanks for all the chips!

Re: Focused Feedback Schedule (Please Read)

My focused feedback day is on Friday. I have quite a way to go, but will do all that I can in the next ten days. I may need to solicit feedback in the Custom Chips forum as Sidepot mentioned in the OP, rather than on Friday.

Thank you Ten and Sidepot for throwing resources at this thing, and all the members for putting so much time and energy into these designs. These chips are going to be something else. I hope that my last-minute limp into this project is not mistaken for a lack of regard.

great idea. Unfortunately I'm leaving tomorrow and won't be back until the 14th, so I'll miss most of them .

Re: Focused Feedback Schedule (Please Read)

Two more days of focused feedback. Speak you mind now (or over the weekend) or hold your peace forever
