||DECIDED|| 6/7 10:30am PST - $500 Late Round Face-Offs (JM -vs- Lucky_Louie)

One vote per CT member, and we "call a winner" under the following pre-determined lopsided conditions:

· 70% After 40: If one chip has a 70% majority after a minimum of 40 votes, we "call the winner" (min vote would be 28 to 12 votes)

· 60% After 50: If one chip has a 60% majority after a minimum of 50 votes, we "call the winner" (min vote would be 30 to 20 votes)

Let the voting begin!

i think JM's matches the rest of the set perfectly, i'm just a little concerned about the base color being too close to the black. what color is the base on the modern clay $500? either way, JM's gets my vote. even if it is close to the black, it looks great with the others.

Our Modern Clay $500 (as well as our InPlay Clay $500) have a purple base color. IMHO (and I have actual sample chip colors in front of me) the plum base color, while pretty dark, contrasts much better with the black $100 chip than the darker purples, specifically Blurple and Laker Purple. I'm not showing favoritism towards JM's chip here (I actually like the very light purples, like Hawaii Flower) but just wanted to answer Stank's question.

I just can't see them getting confused with such different spots. I could see if they had a huge inlay like the NYers which we actually did confuse the pri 500s & 100s in pots & stacks, but with a regular sized inlay and arc yellow spots, I can't imagine these being confused.

IMO the too-dark issue is not about function. Of course you can tell them apart.

Rather it's a question of aesthetics. If I have a large pot of 100s with a few 500s tossed in, I'd like the 500s to "pop". (Remember the "pop" we were all looking for earlier in the process? ). Same with stacks of 100s and 500s; I'd like the 500s to have more contrast and stand out more.

That said, I do really like the spots on JMs chip and will probably vote for it right up through the semifinals. I just wish the base color was one of the lighter shades.

Or maybe we could break tradition and move this chip to the 1000....

This one is close to being called. Get out the vote! Let's pinch it off and get onto the semis tonight.

Called in favor of chip #12, 33 votes to 22 (60%). Congrats Lucky_Louie, and welcome to the semis.

Chip #9 RIP.
