2¢ = Laker Purple (and Blurple) will likely be too dark to use on a chip that will be in the same pots as black.

Yeah I thought about that, but the edgespots colors and patterns are so different, I think it'd be hard to confuse them.

It's probably a good idea to announce ahead of time when the 500 (and future) edgespot designs will be opening. This would give people a specific time to log on and submit, without this thread turning into a 500 pre-submission thread...

It would be a can of worms for people to submit 500's on here ahead of the official thread; when others are waiting for the official opening.
