Re: ||LIVE|| 6/1 7:45pm PST - $100 Final Four (JumpingJack -vs- boondocker)

wow! i expected this one to be alot closer. i definetly have to say that this face-off has the overall winner in it (no offense to the other two still in it...especially the one with the SLEDGEhammer! )

I understand that boon won by the 40-vote mark, but given the closeness of it now and that it's the Final Four, I'd let it go a while.

Just my 2˘

The rules are clearly defined at the top of this thread. I don't think it's right to change them. There were other polls/votes that were called in accordance to the 70%/60% criteria, and votes continued to be placed creating a "closer" race.

Take this for what it is...a comment by a #12/Boon-backer.

Re: ||LIVE|| 6/1 7:45pm PST - $100 Final Four (JumpingJack -vs- boondocker)

This is the problem with the 70/60 criteria, instead of determining the winner after the polls have been opened a predetermined amount of time. It possibly discounts voters who may not, or can not vote early.

· 60% After 40: If one chip has a 60% majority after a minimum of 40 votes, we "call the winner" (min vote would be 24 to 16 votes)

Ya know, it looks like you guys are correct.
If we are indeed to go by the posted rules, this poll has been decided.
I figured we'd be down to the wire, (kinda like we are now) but if i really did have the 60-40 lead after 40, thats kinda it, right?
totally open for discussion.

(Thank you all again for your tremendous support! Lets take it all the way to the finals! )

Re: ||LIVE|| 6/1 7:45pm PST - $100 Final Four (JumpingJack -vs- boondocker)

Using this race as an example, if the first 30 votes were all for JumpingJack, he would be declared winner, despite the fact that after 75 votes, he does not have the most votes.

very valid point.
However, its got to be hard for sidepot to come up with the perfect voting system.

Whats harder to lose to, a set percentage, or just missing it by 1 or 2 votes (as was the case in the great 8 w/duece and myself)

not that it should be changed until after the $100 is done, but this 60/70 criteria was set when we were really only getting 50 - 60 votes per poll, so it was pretty effective. maybe not that we're getting 70 -90 votes, we should up it just a bit. maybe like 75% after 35 or 40 votes and 65% after 45 or 50 votes.
