5/22: Color Submissions for the $25 Protege Chip (50 chip bounty to winner)

The default edge spot configuration and progression is set as follows:

25c $1 $5 $25

$100 $500 $1000 $5000

NCV

***********************************************

$25 Chip Color Submission Process

Edge spot configuration for the $25 chip (a single color for all edge spots):

There will be a roughly 24 hour submission period, starting now. Please use the Chip Factory for you submissions, which you can find here:

http://www.sidepot.com/poker_chip_factory/tool.html
  • One nomination per CT member
  • First come, first serve on claiming available colors. Repeating entries are not valid submissions.
  • A nomination must be "Seconded" by another CT member to be eligible for the subsequent vote off.
EDITED: NOTES ON BASE COLORS

Using the Chip Factory for the $25 chip will be somewhat problematic as the greens don't seem to represent very well on the computer screen. Not sure if it's an issue with the factory, or just with shades of green on computer screens. Anyways, here are my comments:
  • Verde isn't a base color option for the $25 chip - It's even darker than you see in the chip factory, and actually really close to black, if you look at it in any kind of poor lighting. The manufacturer said that no casino would ever consider using it as a base color of $25s because it would be easily confused with black $100s. So it's not an option for the Protege set.
  • Lime green - I just wanted to throw a warning out there that this color, in person, comes across as a sort of "burnt green". It's just a little odd, and doesn't really seem like a solid color (more of something that's still being mixed). It's OK, and can definitely be done but you've been warned.
  • Dark Green - This is the most traditional color, and used in the vast majority of casino and retail sets. If you ask the manufacturer, this is the no brainer base color choice for a $25 chip.
  • Day Green - The Chip Factory representation of this color is pretty far off. It comes across much more greenish-blue. The actual color is much closer to this , a total neon green, than what is represented by the Chip Factory.
  • Sherbert Green - The chip factory representation of this chip is actually pretty good. In real life, this is the color we used on our InPlay Clay $5000 chip as follows:
Submit your $25 nominations, seconds, and any discussions you deem appropriate in this thread. Fire when ready!
