Chips: 1,813 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red just a silly thought...since the two $5 chips we're voting on are so similar, could we possibly go ahead and start submitting $25 chips? i was just thinking that at this point, the only reason we would need to wait is if someone wanted to submit a green chip with either mustard or arc yellow edges. but those two look so close, i don't know that anyone would want either spot onthe green chip too. just a thought. |

Chips: 2,136 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red I think that what Stank is saying here is that ever since the red and black chip went out of the running, no one really cares about the result anymore, so can we move on?
I tend to agree with him. |

Chips: 3,953 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red This race looks pretty tight, so it looks like it will go the full time (24 hrs). We'll wait until this is over to move on to the $25 chip, although you're free to fool around with the Chip Factory until tomorrow morning, when we'll open up the $25 submissions. While we wait for the results here, I have a few notes on the $25 chip.
Chip Factory: http://www.sidepot.com/poker_chip_factory/tool.html
Using the Chip Factory for the $25 chip will be somewhat problematic as the greens don't seem to represent very well on the computer screen. Not sure if it's an issue with the factory, or just with shades of green on computer screens. Anyways, here are my comments: - Verde isn't a base color option for the $25 chip - It's even darker than you see in the chip factory, and actually really close to black, if you look at it in any kind of poor lighting. The manufacturer said that no casino would ever consider using it as a base color of $25s because it would be easily confused with black $100s. So it's not an option for the Protege set.
- Lime green - I just wanted to throw a warning out there that this color, in person, comes across as a sort of "burnt green". It's just a little odd, and doesn't really seem like a solid color (more of something that's still being mixed). It's OK, and can definitely be done but you've been warned.
- Dark Green - This is the most traditional color, and used in the vast majority of casino and retail sets. If you ask the manufacturer, this is the no brainer base color choice for a $25 chip.
- Day Green - The Chip Factory representation of this color is pretty far off. It comes across much more greenish-blue. The actual color is much closer to this
, a total neon green, than what is represented by the Chip Factory. - Sherbert Green - The chip factory representation of this chip is actually pretty good. In real life, this is the color we used on our InPlay Clay $5000 chip as follows:

So that's it. Get your green on. We'll open submissions tomorrow. |

Chips: 3,953 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red And Mustard pulls ahead all of the sudden. It's got more than a 60% majority now, so if we get to 40 votes at this stays the same, we'll move on to the $25 chip today.
Get out the vote! |

Chips: 3,953 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red Called, in favor of #3: Blood Red w/ Mustard (FL70) is the winning $5 chip (They had a majority vote of 24 to 15, which ensures at least a 60% voting majority at the 40 vote count point). Even if this takes a dramatic swing the other way now, it's a done deal. Congrats FL70! PM me your address and I'll get your 50 chip bounty out today.
TOD on chip #2: Blood Red w/ Arc Yellow 2:30pm PST, Monday May 22nd. Rest in peace.
Keep your eye on this forum over the next 20 minutes, as we're starting $25 submissions shortly. |

Chips: 1,375 | | | Re: 5/22: $5 Finals - Mustard versus Arc Yellow Spots on Blood Red SP, got the chips yesterday. Thanks! Wasn't expecting them so quickly.
The Vintage Vegas chips are very nice.
And the new C&S chips have a great heft to them. Did some weighing on a postal scale for those of you who want to know:
Vintage Vegas ASM - 8.8g
President NY - 9.4g
High Roller - 8.5g
Cigar & Snifter - 9.6g
Bear in mind the High Roller is an average of only 5 chips (all I have), the others an average of 10 (all I have for the PNY and C&S).
SP, what are the colors on these new C&S? I'd guess Dolphin Blue with Arc Yellow and Royal Red. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
