Chips: 1,375 | | | Re: Protégé Stage 3 - Tweaking the Set I think a lot of people have become disenchanted with how this design stage has played out, thus interest has dwindled.
**EDIT** - Just to be clear, I do not feel this way. I'm merely noting that this is the likely cause of the a drop off in member interest.
Maybe Ten is reworking this. Or maybe he's just busy with his life.
HAHAH A life outside of poker chips! Wooooo! Ok, ok ,back to reality now.

Chips: 1,214 | | | Re: Protégé Stage 3 - Tweaking the Set I'm with you FL, I was psyched when this was first posted, disappointed at how the initial polls turned out, disappointed at how the subsequent polls turned out, resigned that I would get some anyway after the "set" was chosen, and now shocked and appalled that the green chip needs the tweaking - it's the only one I really like - understated and cool.
The black chip is a great looking chip, but it has no business in this set. The colors don't go with anything.
I know it is way too late to change things, but I think if everyone had blue chip samples, they would feel differently about the colors in this group - in my opinion - and lord knows I appear to be the only one with this opinion - the more muted blue chippers (actual samples, not mock-ups) don't look very good. The brighter colors really pop and look great. Look at a set of Mardi Gras and I don't know how you can come to a different conclusion.
Oh well... |

Rather than putting up a bunch of designs and picking the top favorites right away, we should have removed the ones with the LEAST votes, let the designers do a few tweaks via group comments during the voting, resubmit them and then vote again.
When you are left with the final 2 sets, then let the inlay designers pick which one they want to design on and start the artwork submissions using two the two favorite sets of chip designs. |
