Give me a name, ANY name and I can stylize it to look "luxurious" but if the chip concept is NOT to use a name, how can you make it look luxurious?
Look at the Bellagio chip (also mentioned in the rules). The font and layout used says, "classy" but it's not like they have Rolex watches, diamond rings or Ferrari's on it. The style is in the way the name is displayed, the name IS the logo. |
OTB - I understand your point, but I disagree with it to an extent - a theme is an
abstract idea.
A Luxury Ocean Liner is a "thing" not a theme. Luxury Travel may be a better example of a theme. Perhaps I should have used the word Luxurious - but the theme should be a be wider in scope than something like Luxury Ocean Liner. Most equate Ocean Liners with luxury so the example is redundant. Like an uncomfortable proctological exam....
When I think of luxury I think about the Great Gatsby, F Scott and the boys, Key West, Monaco, and yes those ocean liner posters from the 20's and 30's. However, someone else may take a different view -
Anyway, I think taking a minimalist approach to setting guideleines will produce the most creativity. Luxury, Style, Wealth or whatever etc. will generate some wonderful submissions.
