Just my .2 | True but its hard to come up with something that's unique, cool, crazy and APPEALING to a large audience. The standad colors may not be the greatest but pretty much everyone is comfortable with them. Just try coming up with a 5 chip progression using non-standard colors and see how many people love it and hate it. At that point its all personal preference which is hard to get a good consensus on. For a .25, $2, $1k, $5k and another non-standard color chips its definitely an option.
BTW, I just rolled over the 1k in posts mark. |

Just my .2 | From the contest rules: Colors and edge spot options are up to Contestants, but due to a required “Blind submission process” involved in registering colors with the manufacturer, a full set of default base color and edge spots will be chosen by Participant vote – Prior to the official start of the inlay design submission stage, Participants will collectively discuss, vote on, and subsequently decide on the default base and edge spots colors from a palette of 35 colors and edge spot designs from a choice of numerous edge spot designs, which will all be provided graphically by ChipTalk. The only limitation here is that the $1, $5, $25, and $100 chips will be required to roughly follow casino color precedents of blue/white, red, green, and black, respectively. So there is some leeway as far as shading, but for the most part, the standard colors have to be followed. |

I saw enough interesting shades in there that it should still be some pretty sweet lookin chips. |

Yeah, I really like some of the options we have here. I'm hopeful we can do a variation on a theme for the colors rather than just going straight, plain, blue, red, green, black. I think a set using brighter shades of the standard colors could look real good. |
