Re: Protégé Stage 1 - Master Thread - General Discussion

I hope that this is not the case. One of the negatives against BC has always been the weight of their chips (or lack thereof). Eli says that the new Samarui chips from BC are much heavier so we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks,

I wouldnt read too much into this, or get your hopes up about the weight of other/future BC sets.
The Desert Palms came out fantastic, but are again typical BC weight.
Im just being a bit cautious here, but Id hesitate to think that BC will incorporate the heavier Samurai weight into every BC that gets made from here on out. Sure would increase thier rep around here if they did though!
Maybe with the .10 increase, they will add a little more heft to them.

I would say we need some sort of progression for the spots. Don't start out with the bomb spots on thew lowest denom. Just my thoughts.

Just a note for all to ponder:

Using white for $1 and blue for NCV utilizes both colors without having to resort to pink for NCV. use blue for $1, then what do you use white for? Not use white at all?

I like using white for the $0.25.

Your jedi mind powers won't work on me old man! The reverse is also true. Use blue for $1 and white could be just fine as NCV. I think white could work OK as a 25 cent chip or possibly even 1000 or 5000 as well. But NCV would probably be best. I only mentioned pink since it is commonly known as a $2.50 chip and as an NCV it could be used for that or several other "off" denoms that the cash gamers like.

why couldn't white = ncv? it looks great as a 1k chip in shiv's king crown set, and also works as a .25 chip. and if people insist, they can use it as the 1.

and really, aren't there enough sets with white 1s out there for people who aren't willing to flex on the issue?
