Protege Supplemental Denoms - Purchase Intent

Let's move forward with guaging interest in these supplemental denominations for the Protege Set. The decision of which ones to make, and in what order, will largely be determined by the purchase intent of CT members. Also, keep in mind that following the pre-buy production of these, any of them or all of them may abruptly be discontinued, and this may happen in a seemingly arbitrary manner for both marketing reasons and the maintenance of the exclusivity of the Protege line. However, we can't make any guarantees upfront what denominations will or will not be added to the core of the set.

While we will not be collecting money based on purchase intentions stated in this thread, before production begins we will, so for the sake of everyone involved please be as accurate as possible.

Here are the chips (preliminary colors that still need to be approved by manufactuer):

NOTE: The $50 chip will not have a sawtooth punched/shaped inlay... unless there is massive demand (10K+) for that chip as the shaped inlays are quite expensive.

How to declare intent:

Make one post per CT member in this thread with the quantity of each denomination you'd be willing to buy if offered at the following pre-pay pricing schedule (based on the collective demand per denomination):

Combined quantity of 1000 chips - $1.10 per chip
Combined quantity of 1500 chips - $1.05 per chip
Combined quantity of 3000 chips - $1.00 per chip

*If we don't reach the 1000 mark for any individual denomination, we could still make them available, but it would be at a significantly higher per chip price point (something like $2/chip at 100 level, $1.50/chip at 250 level, and $1.25/chip at the 500 level). Of course, intent may well change if the pricing jumps into these levels on the pre-buy, and that should be understood by all. Opting out at this point will be totally acceptable.

To thank Magus_23 for his excellent work on this supplemental line, I'd like to extend him an offer for 500 of these supplemental chips on the house - any mix he likes (reading this will be the first he hears of this, so congrats Magus_23!). These will count toward the quantity levels above. And anyone who takes advantage of this offer, please send some thanks to Magus_23 for his artistic contributions on this extention of the Protege line.

Please copy this below and insert your quantity desired next to each denomination:

I'm removing my purchase intent, so I don't want to skew the early polls.

After viewing the many posted photos of the Proteges, they just don't look very sharp and defined (as compared to the original mockups which looked awesome!), and do seem to have a faded, washed-out effect which is a deal-breaker for me.

Re: Protege Supplemental Denoms - Purchase Intent

I really like the new "NCV", particularly the blue, green, and black. I think the blue are going to look terrific with the existing orange.

Please be enough interest in them!

I am going to wait for my initial order to decide which chips to reload on, and which new ones to pick up.

Re: Protege Supplemental Denoms - Purchase Intent

I think this is a little premature considering so many of us are still waiting for our original order. As much as I love Magus_23's mock up of the $20 chip, I know I won't be able to hazard a guess as to my interest in additional denoms until I've had a chance to play with my tourney set for at least a couple of weeks.

Re: Protege Supplemental Denoms - Purchase Intent

Wow, thanks for the offer! I'll obviously have to go with a minimum of 25 each, plus some samples to round out my "gift" samples...

(And we knew the sawtooth was a real longshot from the get-go, so I'll work on an alternate inlay.)

The exact numbers are subject to change once we have an actual order on the table, but this is at least the ballpark I'm thinking. And I'll probably have to pick up a few more of the standard-set Protégés to round out the high-denomination set (a few more $1000s and $5000s).

Rowlin,

Go ahead and venture a guess as the quantities of each you'd be considering. Saying you like the blue, green, and black gives us some info, but do you want 5 of each of them or a 100. That's the information that we need to plan effectively here. You can always go back in and edit this post and change your plans.

Thanks.

mac40k - totally understood. Keep in mind you can always go back in and edit your estimates. Just trying to get the ball rolling here (and we all know how long it takes to get that ball rolling )
