I want to make it clear that I still really dig the original colour scheme, and was only trying to improve on what I consider to be perfection. If it turns out that the original colours win, I won't be in the least bit dissapointed. Thanks again for everything, this contest has been amazing!

Re: imthatguy's Face-Off

My breakdown went like this:

25˘ No change
$1 Original- the darker blue seems too subdued. SP mentioned that the Horizon was the way to go.
$5 Push - The color change is OK.
$25 Alternate - A definite improvement (since I also suggested this change to Magus)
$100 Original - While not a huge fan of the original, I think it's a bit better fit than the alternate.
$500 Push - Better edge spot pattern, but a bit darker.
$1000 Original - The brown seems very plain and I think the $1K chip should have more than one edge color.
$5000 No change - Which is good, I really grew to love this color combo.
NCV No change

So it was a 3-1 win for the Original for me, but good luck either way.

Sidepot, it looks like my vote got recorded twice somehow (not intentional). You should probably remove one of them to keep the count honest.

EDIT: Apparently you don't need to since it shows the correct total. It ignored my 2nd one and is showing a true count.

Re: imthatguy's Face-Off

$500 new is better, but qualifed:

The only thing that i liked, but liked almost enough to be a one issue voter was the elimination of white infavor of dark plumb/purple whatever on the $500 chip. I SOOO don't like the white salmon and lavendar (my words) combo that I might not buy a set with that in it (i am oonly interested in 25, 100, 500 and ncv chips). That combo makes me feel all QQ in my hole cards. However i am not a big fan ot the narrow widely spaced six edgespots of the new one, though the colors are better. My pefect would be the darke edgespot color of the alternate design as a base (or failing that the alternate chip base) with the original patern with the other purple shade and orange (no white). I accept all the competing interests and limitations and my own particular aparent discomfort with my sexuality on that chip, but just thought i would let you know where i came out.

$25, new is just a little better as three shades are better than two (which one can do on ones own custom order), but i like both fine

$100 old is SOOO much better, that it outweighed the considerations fo other chips. thre red white blue looks just so much like a USO set

NCV is unchanged as is my opition.

I see you voted for the original set. I have a simple question. Why did you put up an alternate if you liked the original so much?

I think I agree with you that from top to bottom, the ChipTalk community designed set is the best. I would have loved to see all the original sets win so it was truly a test of who had the best inlay design.

That's the realization that I came to. I posted it, because I felt that I needed to at least see what it would look like with a different set. I knew the first one would be hard to beat, and I'm the first to admit that I'm not a colour matching expert. Glad to see it won, I was never happy with the alternates that i came up with. Chalk one up for design by committee!
