Protege Alternate is... Johnny5

{{Edit - Johnny5 has been selected as the alternate. See this post for details and reasoning.}}

In a little over 1 hour, we'll be down to the final 3 contestants in the Protege contest. A fourth contestant will be brought back to life at Sidepot's discretion to compete in the final four, where it could get really interesting as each contestant now has the opportunity to tweak their lines chip colors and/or edge spots.

I've got about 3 front-runners I'm considering right now as the fourth alternate, but I'd be really interested to hear who you all think has the highest likelihood of coming in and turning their design into a candidate to win the whole thing.

Sound off!

Re: Protege Alternate - Who should it be?

Fin's (if he gets eliminated), JM's & J5's would be my alternates.

OnTheButton’s chip “The Club”. Clean and simple 2-sided design, with a clever theme, but not over the top. I really like this chip

mizuchaud

Not only is his design really nice, I think it is one that could improve leaps and bounds by the chip colour tweaking.

My favorite among those eliminated is entry #18.

Re: Protege Alternate - Who should it be?

I love Inlay #20 (VegasMike), but it was up against Inlay #5 (Magus_23). IMHO these were the best two inlays offered.

Re: Protege Alternate - Who should it be?

Note that whichever chip designer gets re-instated, unless they are looking to be the fourth place finisher, IMHO he is going to have to probably substantially overhaul his inlay. If it alreay lost as is, just changing the edge spots isn't likely to make that big of a difference in the voting as all of the contestants can do that.

Thanks, but I was DQ'ed for not needing to make any changes to my design and then resubmitting it at a later date with no alterations. Of course I didn't intend to do this, but it happened anyway.

At least since I was "cut" from the contest it should mean that Sidepot does not own my artwork on my design now, right?
