Protege Contestant #18: JT-Bird

"draft" images for my inlay concept.

in general the inlay concept is based on the idea of an "invitational" poker game with a classic hot wax stamp that would appear on the back of the invitation to seal it as the center piece of the inlay .

I am by no means a graphic artist, but I pulled this together as best I could. Currently the wax seal represents an "HM" for "His Majesty" however I have toyed with the idea of the seal representing an object rather than letters (e.g., a kings crown)

I am also not married to the idea of the "His Majesty's" component, but felt it was a good starting point.

This first post represents the "original submission" only, and enables the initiation of the discussion thread on this chip submission. This thread now belongs to JT-Bird, and he may use his first post within this tread to post updates/changes to his submission, which will ultimately be the design of his that gets submitted into the voting rounds on July 17th.

Feedback, comments, & constructive criticism encouraged!

Wow, that wax stamp is really an original concept. Not something that I would have thought of, but something that does make perfect sense.

Nice work!

Ditto on the wax stamp. Maybe dress up the fonts a little?

How about the wax stamp on top, words in the middle (and maybe just the denomination written out), and the denom at bottom? Ala the Condando Beach chip layout. Works well with shaped inlays. You could put an image stamped in the wax, or even alternate between denominations. Lot's of options here.

Here is a stab at Sidepot's suggestions... when we get much beyond this, I may need some graphics help...

Taking Sidepots comments into account and chip color accented inlays....

Great concept!.

I think the traditional color for the seal "wax" is usually red and might look good too. could you blow up the seal to a more "true to life scale" size with a little more detail to the "crown" or lettering within the seal and then just have the denom; nothing about "by invite only"

I like this one...

Re: Protege Contestant #18: JT-Bird

I like it JT but the seal still seems too washed out. Also, this is a great candidate for an off-white textured bkg... like parchment or something.

Also, here's a seal that can work with a slightly diff look...

*modified of course as to not upset the logo owners.
