I don't even think you need the spelled out denoms, they hide the nice art behind them. I would make the artwork on top larger and the denoms on the bottom a bit smaller.

yeah, good idea... i like it with the bigger eagle & smaller denom #'s instead... fills it out nicely... I like the worded denoms too, though -- helps achieve that "currency" theme i was going for... and without them it looks empty and colorless...
good ideas, jjack... thanks. here's the edited inlays... I think these look better taking in your suggestions...
and updated chips...

self promotional bump...
you guys think i should lose the NCV chip? the set might be used as a hybrid cash/tourney which would make the NCV irrelevant because in tourney mode, of course its NCV -- they all are; and in cash mode, NCV doesn't make sense because it would have a cash value...

thanks, I think its classy and elegant -- if anyone has any further suggestions Im looking forward to them... i'm trying to figure out whether or not to drop the NCV on the non denom chip... i think this set would look great on a nice table
its actually a Byzantine Double Eagle from the early roman empire.. but many eastern european countries still use it in a fashion on thier crests/flags...
