Epiphany Unveiling of Phase 3 (Complete Chip Design Phase)

We've got 9 submissions in total so far. A little lighter participation than I anticipated, but we've got some really nice designs in here.

Still, it'd be nice to see some more submissions, and make the contest a little more entertaining... maybe something along the lines of...

adaptation of mizuchaud's Protege submission... come on mizuchaud, you've got a competitor here. Where you at

-- or --

Lifted inlay from JT-Bird's Protege submission... you out there JT?

-- or --

No explanation necessary. Is the defending champ a no show in phase 3? Say it isn't so

And no submissions yet from the perenial front-runners Fins, Johnny5, and more. I guess that's what you get for holding a contest just as the weather is starting to get nice...

****************************************************

Without further conjoling... Phase 3 contestants (in no particular order) are as follows...

Diablo_Rojo's Submission

******************************************************

Extrahole's Submission

******************************************************

Feen666's Submission

******************************************************

Gaber6's Submission

******************************************************

Jblazer's Submission

******************************************************

Jumping Jack's Submission

******************************************************

Maegnus's Submission

******************************************************

Stardust's Submission

******************************************************

Tim722's Submission

Okay, so these are the 9 contestants currently. Let's have some initial discussion on the submissions, and then I'll break each one out into it's own thread for feedback and artist/contestant tweaking.

Let's get rolling!

-Stephan

Re: Epiphany Unveiling of Phase 3 (Complete Chip Design Phase)

Wow, nice stuff. Good luck to everyone!
I'm going to cheat again for myself here, and give you a virtual look at my chips (with the help of Magus's face design.) Again, for me I like simple, like the classic Paulson's that just have the numbers. I kept the secondary colors consistent on all the chips as well.
The mark around the lady's neck says something like era fortuna, good luck or lady luck or something like that. I already forget.

I actually surprised almost all the designs used the archimage type race track (grand or other).
Any guesses on how those thin lines are going to print on the chip?
All the designs look great.

makes sense to me. I picked the track/rolling edges that won the 1st 2 rounds so as to please the majority.

I am stoked for this to get underway! Great submissions and a big GL sir to my fellow CTers!

Has anyone seen the 9804 Gold on a chip. I'm curious on whether it looks like gold leaf or is closer to a goldenrod type color?

Stephan, just wanted to make sure you got my submission. I don't see it in the above 9.

Thanks!

Maegnus,
I like how you incorporated my side dots into the label design. Brilliant.
It seems as though we'll be able to get some critique here and then re-submit for a final unveiling?

thanks gaber!

I'm a huge fan of your design, you really pulled off the smaller inlay great, and the gold ties the chips together nicely. Your NCV chip is gorgeous but i cant see it flowing well side by side with the other chips. it would make a great dealer button tho, hmm i cant think of any suggestions at the moment. that stacked mock-up = hawwwt
