though it may be difficult to differentiate between the two if it is one of the older Paulson chips that were manufactured by Burt Co, who also manufactured the Christy & Jones TH&C chips. And just to add confusion into the mix, the clay chips on the Nevada and Diecard molds from the Nevada Dice (aka Bud Jones, of Christy & Jones) were also made by the Burt Co (now Chipco, though the Burt Co. molds are went to ASM) ... and of course, the Nevada mold is now at Blue Chip, owned by Nevada Jacks Also, the horsehead mold that is currently from ASM was also originally from Christy & Jones. Head spinning yet? | This makes my brain hurt. Can you make a picture or map of this? Can I buy a vowel? Phone a friend?

Incestious as it may seem, that's not even half of the story. The other half is that there were only two primary manufacturers of compression molded chips in the country at the time, Burt Company and TR King. Christy & Jones and Paulson (headed by Paul Endy Jr.) both originally had all of their chips manufactured at Burt Company. The part that would probably qualify for a Paul Harvey "The Rest of the Story" segment is that TR King was founded and owed by Paul Endy Sr., and had helped fund his son's purchase of Christy & Jones in 1963. Cool Think about that one the next time someone posts about Paulson being the 'only' chip Smile
| I thought ASM was in business at the turn of the century.
Last Century I mean. |

Chips: 12 | | | Interesting about the hot0stamping - it looks more like the letters and denominations have been carved into the chip. Maybe that's a sign of it's age?? |

Chips: 377 | | | Yeh, I noticed that only AFTER i took the pics and was resizing them. When you look at the chip itself, it's not that obvious. It does seem the letters were carved into the chip, then the gold stamping was put on after. |

Chips: 10,249 | | | "OP" is categorized as an... Unknown.
Listed in The Gaming Table, it is carried as an "unknown". This means that collectors have noted their existence but have no idea where it came from or where it was used.
Several years ago, PaulSon sold to the private market, so the chuip may be from a private home game set. At the same time, it could be a chip from a Nevada casino, an illegal joint, or just about anywhere. But the likelihood is from a home game set.

Chips: 1,728 | | | Re: "OP" is categorized as an... A lot of legit cardrooms have also used the same initials on one side, value on the other as well. I don't know about the more recent Paul-Son retail sales, but my set from about 25 years ago was only available with initials on both sides, but that may have been the only way that the cardroom supply store where I bought them was selling them.
