Where to get info, as well as buy, Paulson Dunes Casino's?

I want a set of the Paulson Dunes chips (I am sure I am not alone on that one ) and was wondering where I can get info on them.

I have just seen the chips and think they are the nicest looking chips I have ever seen, but know little about the casino they come from, what year these chips came into circulation, or what kind of prices they fetch.

Any help would be appreciated, I am not looking to buy them this weekend or anything but would like to start gathering information.

Well, you can try ebay, there are several listings there selling chips. Most are selling them a couple at a time, they bring a little more money that way. There is 1 listing for a set of 300 here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...186240990&rd=1

Auction has 3 days left and is already $600+ and hasn't met the reserve. I don't know what the market value is but I am sure it is high.

As far as add'l info, you could try this site: http://www.ccgtcc.com/

I don't know for sure if they have info on the Dunes chips there but several chiptalk members are either members there as well or at least familiar with the site.

Good luck!

Check that out, should give you some good pictures, as well as prices for single chips. As you can see, a set of Dunes is going to run you a pretty penny...

Aside from eBay, you can by that set of 300 directly from Spinettis website: http://www.spinettis.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=198

I went and looked for that link right away, but couldn't find it. Turns out it wasn't under specialty, but rather collectible.

I find that $25 chip at least as attractive as any chip I've ever seen - I might actually end up buying one, and I'm not even into this stuff. (I am into grabbing a red when I'm at a casino, not into the vintage stuff)

They're a little thinner than the average Paulson. I grabbed a stack of 20 'cuz I was going to use them as the higher denom w/ my $1 and $5 Crystal Parks. A stack of 20 is about a 1/2 chip smaller than a reg. Paulson stack of 20. But this might not really matter as I've heard the new paulsons aren't consistent in thickness. The Dunes ARE really nice though. Stack and shuffle great but the price is a little steep and the $1's are ridiculously expensive.

I have some older Paulson chips (both consumer and casino) from the early 80's and they're thinner than the current ones as well. There isn't that much of a difference (about a .1 mm per chip, but it makes a noticable difference with a stack. A stack will be loose in a 2 11/16" rack, a current Paulson or Chipco rack, and you'll be able to fit 21 into a 2 3/4" rack.
