Cruise ship chips

Just got back from a week on the MS Oosterdam. Brought back some $1 (blue) chips and a $5 chip as souveniers. Anyone else have Holland America chips? These are hat and cane with a full graphic inlay. Ship on one side and compass on the other.

I have some chips from Carnival Cruise, Royal Caribbean (Viking), and Princess, but no Holland American. Sounds like a neat chip, can you post a picture?

I have been on a few cruises but was not a chip collector then, next time I will have to keep some. This forum will be costing me even for the small stuff.

Mine are really similar to your Carnival Spirit $5 chip. Will post a picture if I can get to a digital camera. May have to start a Dam ship chip collection.

I saved a few chips from the Queen Mary 2 last fall, although the avatar was of one that I subsequently cashed in. Hey, collecting's one thing, but a C note is a C note.

H&C, full graphic inlay, pleasant edge spots, and owing to the newness of the ship, pretty new condition.

Mine are almost new also. The casino on the ship only opens about half the time and the chips don't seem to get much play. The Oosterdam is only two years old.

Most cruise ship do not have poker yet. The Princess line is starting to add low limit holdem, also Carnival. There are special poker cruises, look it up at cardplayer site.

On the Princess line, the Grand Princess was the first one to add poker room. I was on it just before they added the poker room, the cruise could have been for free if poker was on board then. The newsletter I receive from Princess said they would be adding holdem to the other ships. My favorite line by the way. Been on a few others and this one beats the others by a country mile. Great food & service.

The QM2 didn't have poker, either ('cept for the lame 3-card variety), but most of the dealers and floor spent their shifts talking about how much they were looking forward to getting into a port with a real casino so they could play Hold 'Em. When we got to Halifax, the ship's passengers and crew totally swamped the poor little four table poker room.

But, I did win $200+ on board playing BJ.
