Help with new collection of casino hundos.

OMG - first of all, let me just say it's obv been way too long....it took me a good five minutes to figure out how to start a darn thread. Oy.

Most of the chips that grab me out of the sets are the $100s. So I decided to start collecting them. I picked up a couple of gems this weekend to get the ball a'rolling.

My dilemma is this.... I plan to get a wall mounted display case (eventually) and will keep the chips in Air-Tites. But part of the beauty of the chips is the spots - so do I want the airtites with foam or the H39? I'm worried the black foam will make the chip look less dramatic, but then in the more snug fitting cases I worry about chipping a pricey chip. Arg.

What say ye?

Re: Help with new collection of casino hundos.

I suggest buying 39 mm Air-Tites for Paulson and TRK chips and 40.6 mm for the slightly larger chips (ASM, some BCC, anything that doesn't fit easily into a 39 mm case).

Mine are in direct-fit Air-Tites for the reason you mentioned -- so that I can see the edges. My display cabinets have acrylic panes with 98% UV protection because I don't want my precious babies to fade.

I agreed. I would go with 41mm direct fit, you can see the rolling edge nicely. I almost killed a chips because it was snug fit in a 39mm, it wouldn't come out of the airtite. With 41mm you should be able to fit any regular size chips. The chip wouldn't move in the airtite, once you close it, it's just thick enough for the chip.

Thanks, I've been eyeballing it. I just decided to sell my house though, so I'm gonna cool it a bit for a while. I've got to get rid of some stuff...not buy more.
