Chips: 726 | | | help: categories for a chip db I have this little script i use for my traders (see signature). The script is just a quick file based hack and a bit cumbersome to update.
Since i have some free time this weekend I'm thinking about extending it. I want to be able to add/edit/del chips through a web frontend, search the db, and generate a pdf catalogue.
First thing I need are useful categories for the chip info. Here are two examples of what I'm thinking might be useful: Casino Chips: Casino: Caesars Palace
Denomination: $1
City: Las Vegas, Nevada Manufacturer: Paulson Condition: mint Comment: bla bla Fantasy Chips: Name: Pharaoh's Club & Casino
Denomination: NCV Manufacturer: Paulson Condition: mint
Comment: bla bla Any other categories you would include?
ps: There might be similar solutions available for free which I'm not aware of. And although I want something that runs on my server, it can't hurt to take a look at other solutions. So if you know something...

Just some ideas. Not sure if these are important to you or not

Chips: 1,744 | | | Re: help: categories for a chip db I just bought an app called "collector's asssistant". It was developed by Carlisle Development (Carlisledevelopment.com).
You should look at their web site...it has screen shots of the data pages.
You could consider whether the app is a better value than developing it yourself...it was less than $50. |

Chips: 492 | | | Re: help: categories for a chip db I would include information on who I obtained the chip from and at what cost as well as a current valuation of it as well as store a scan of it with the descriptive info.
