I went to Caesars Indiana and they're were doing a lot of construction. The rumor is since the harrah's buyout there's going to be a name change. The name will go from Caesars to The Horseshoe...new name, new chips??? I'll keep an eye on this.

Let's hope that with the Horseshoe they get new chips, and some decent ones at that.

I played there a couple weeks back, worst chips i have seen at a casino.

I had a great time there during the Southwest Poker Tour we did; got two chips I wanted, but was never able to get a snapper from them, oh well.

I'm not sure what type of construction was going on, but it's possible it could relate to the flood damage they suffered a coupla months ago. Just a thought.

Yes, there will be a name change. This had been planned for a long time.

It really doesn't have anything to do with Harrah's going private and changing their corporate name to Caesars, it's still the same people running the place.

Their branding approach is to keep the Caesars name for only their high-end properties. They want to use the Horseshoe name for other middle-market casinos, and are maintaining the historical connection with Jack Binion as part of their advertising. The Harrah's brand is mainly used by riverboat casinos in the U.S. South and Midwest.

For Caesars Indiana, the Horseshoe name change was part of the planned renovation. If you look at the new elevator doors on the boat, there is a big horsehose etched in the metal doors. But I have no idea if they're going to take out all the Roman-themed crap all over the place....jeez, it's everywhere.

As far as chips, yes I hope they get a nice new Horseshoe rack to replace those Chipcos. For your viewing pleasure, here's a nice sample I got this past weekend on the way to the ChipTalk Meetup in Dallas:
