Yes, there will be a name change. This had been planned for a long time.
It really doesn't have anything to do with Harrah's going private and changing their corporate name to Caesars, it's still the same people running the place.
Their branding approach is to keep the Caesars name for only their high-end properties. They want to use the Horseshoe name for other middle-market casinos, and are maintaining the historical connection with Jack Binion as part of their advertising. The Harrah's brand is mainly used by riverboat casinos in the U.S. South and Midwest.
For Caesars Indiana, the Horseshoe name change was part of the planned renovation. If you look at the new elevator doors on the boat, there is a big horsehose etched in the metal doors. But I have no idea if they're going to take out all the Roman-themed crap all over the place....jeez, it's everywhere.
