The seller is referencing the 3 year old, Campiglia/Wells "Official" guide, which does list the chip in R-9 rarity and value based on three condition levels as $1,000/$1,500/$2,000. The seller assesses a condition of SU, but the poor photographs still reveal enough nicks to say otherwise.
Now opposing this is the value assigned by the now 4 year old Chip Rack. It carries the same chip as a "U" value, meaning $400 - $449.
I do not know why there is a such a difference here, but I'm guessing it won't get the first bid of $1,000. I could be wrong, but...
