Lots of PNY's on the market. Did I miss something???

All of a sudden, I see hundreds of PNY's on the market.
Did I miss something?
Are they losing value so everyone is dumping them?

Re: Lots of PNY's on the market. Did I miss something???

Honestly, I think there have been tons of PNYs on the market for a long time, probably the last 6 months.

There are just SO many of them out there, there are always some that are bound to show up for sale.

If you can't get the 1's, 5's, 25's, and 100's for right around $1 per, you just aren't looking hard enough. 500's are selling for around $3-4 per or cheaper normally (unless you are SuckoutKing), which is not to shabby.

It seems like everyone has SuckoutKing-itus when it comes to these things. I've been looking for 25 for a long time and everyone thinks that they are worth $7-$8 per now. If I found them for $3-$4 (which is what I paid for my 75), I would jump at them.
I'm ashamed to admit, I thought about dumping my 75 if I could get $7-$8 for them - I could use an extra $500-$600 bucks. But I just can't do it - it seems like price gouging to me and not in the spirit of the community.

I picked up 300 of the $5 and $25 for $1 each.
But I see lots on the market with an asking price of $1.50+.
It just seems like there are more than normal up for sale.

Yeah, there's a difference between what they are asking for, and what they actually sell them for. I've never paid more than $3.50 for the secondaries. I think the Primaries may go a little higher.

Someone please show me an auction in the last 6 months in which PNY $500s were bought for between $3.50 -$4.50. I follow Ebay pretty closely and have not seen even 1 listed in a long time.

I don't save old ebay listings, but I found one in my old watch list where they ended at about $5 per.

I bought from the original seller, arcone ltd, for $3.50 per in quantity about 3-4 months ago. I sold some (I think it was to chiptalker chip junior) for $3.50-4.00 per.

That is kind of the point. I have not seen them that low either. I know they have not gone up in value that much - its because someone price gouges because they have picked up all the chips at a low price and when everyone wants them they sell them back at an ungodly markup - real world works this way, but we have a trusting community to prevent this behavior.

Bottom line is that these chips are not worth anywhere near $7-$8 per chip, but everyone seems to be asking that price now. It just seems too capitolistic for this site - use ebay for this.

Re: Lots of PNY's on the market. Did I miss something???

It doesn't bother me if someone wants to mark-up their chips for sale.
My only observation was that there seem to be more than the usual amount for sale.
Maybe everyone is trying to get money for their 44mm customs.

Re: Lots of PNY's on the market. Did I miss something???

Price gauging. You know what my prices may be higher than the market price but in no way is it price gauging. I paid for my classified ad and guess what I can list them for whatever I want. If they don't sell OH WELL I love the set anyway. That stuff about ask less if you selling in the community is a joke. Who do you think is buying chips on Ebay um people from our community. So whats the difference. I also love when people debate to me about selling prices. I feel I have a pretty good feel for chip prices. And if anyone has read my ad there are no set prices anyway. I am strictly asking for offers only. Did you guys happen to READ the ad? I am just saying these are the MINIMUMs I would consider selling them for.
